Ca Tru is a professional art form that has existed in Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province for a long time. Throughout its long history, each specific social period has influenced the rise and fall of this art form.
After more than 25 years of restoration, preservation and promotion of values, more than 15 years of Ca Tru being recognized by UNESCO, the journey of heritage protection has many ups and downs, there are many advantages to promote values but Ca Tru also faces many difficulties to survive and develop. Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province (now Nghi Xuan commune, Ha Tinh province) has made many efforts in protecting and promoting the value of Ca Tru heritage, however, it has not established more but continues to maintain and promote the effective operation of 02 Ca Tru clubs: Co Dam Ca Tru Club, Co Dam commune, established in 1995, the number of members participating in activities always fluctuates monthly, annually with about more than 30 people and Nguyen Cong Tru Ca Tru Club, operating at the Temple of the Patriarch in Nghi Xuan commune, established in 1998, attracting from 10 to 20 members to participate.

The number of people who have mastered Ca Tru in the area in the previous reporting period was 21 female singers, dancers, 2 instrumentalists, 2 officials and every year there are 30-40 people studying. Currently there are nearly 40 female singers, dancers, 2 instrumentalists, 2 officials who have mastered many styles and there are 02 additional instrumentalists, 02 officials, 04 new female singers who can practice 2-3 Ca Tru songs. Every year there are 35-50 people studying.
To suit the performance space in contemporary life, in the past, popular performances in the community were mostly Hat noi, Hat Mo, Muu, Chuc ho, Tu quy, Dai thach, Nhip ba cung bac, and Xam. The performances mainly used only ancient poetry. Currently, in addition to the popular styles, songs in classical styles such as Ty ba hanh, Gui thu, Thet nhac, Ngam tho, Hat dam... have been promoted in the community.

In the form of "old wine in new bottles", in addition to the ancient lyrics, some genres such as Hat noi, Chuc ho, Tu quy, Dai thach, Ngam tho, Xam, Hat Ham have been composed by local poets with new lyrics reflecting contemporary life, writing about the topic of praising the homeland, country, famous people, reflecting the new rural construction movement in the area... have been practiced by clubs, and have built repertoire and programs to participate in festivals, competitions, festivals and serve when needed.
Currently in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh, the transmission of the heritage to the next generation by the next generation of artisans includes 04 singers, 02 musicians and 02 officials who are the core members participating in teaching Ca Tru in the community. Every year, 02 Ca Tru classes are organized for the age of 06 and up, with the aim of creating conditions for the young generation to approach and get acquainted with the art of Ca Tru. Each session lasts 1 month. Each class has 10 - 20 people learning to sing, dance, and 2 - 4 people learning to play instruments and drums. Thereby, searching for and discovering new factors with the ability to train and improve.
Over the past time, Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh has made many efforts in protecting and promoting the value of Ca Tru heritage. Currently, Ca Tru has gradually revived and entered the daily life of the people here. In addition to the protection and promotion activities of clubs in the heritage community, the practice of heritage in contemporary life has more diverse activities. In addition to singing forms serving local festivals such as village festivals, spring festivals, longevity celebrations, singing for conferences of the government, of social organizations, singing in regular club activities as before, currently the clubs also participate in singing to serve the new rural experience tour , serving tourists when visiting the scenic spots in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh. Normally, a Ca Tru singing session today lasts for more than an hour. The singer can sing according to a set program or sing at the request of the audience.
The above results show that the current vitality of Ca Tru heritage in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh is being maintained and its value is being promoted. To achieve this, it is thanks to the joint efforts of management agencies from the provincial level down to the grassroots level, the active participation of the heritage community along with social organizations, researchers, communities, groups of people interested in heritage and heritage protection, Ca Tru singing heritage in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh../.
