Robot vacuum cleaners quietly change everyday usage

In recent years, the “self-emptying dust” function has gradually become familiar on vacuum and mop robots. After returning to the station, the robot will suck dust and trash into the bag on the station body, and the user only needs to replace the dust bag periodically. The dust bag becomes one of the consumable items during use. If you do not pay attention and the dust bag is almost full, the ability to suck trash into the bag will also be significantly reduced.

Ecovacs offers a new solution in the Deebot X11 Omnicyclone model. Instead of a dust bag, the Omnicyclone uses a hard trash can located on the front. When returning to the station, the robot still vacuums dust and trash here. Instead of periodically removing it, users actively observe the amount of trash and clean it. The box uses a familiar "cyclone" design on the Tineco floor cleaning machine brand, also from Ecovacs. The shell is made of transparent plastic, making it easy for users to observe the amount of trash in the box.

According to Ecovacs, the 1.6 liter dust box can hold dust for about 1.5 months of use, saving about 25 dust bags after 5 years of use. In addition to being economical, this type of box provides better dust suction efficiency than dust bags. During the experience, common types of trash such as hair, cat hair, and some small items are better sucked into the box, instead of often getting stuck in the dust bin on the body of the machine with a dust bag.

The Deebot X11 series is also the company's first robot with a "fast charge" feature. With previous Ecovacs robots, to clean (with mopping mode after vacuuming) a house of about 90 m2, cleaning area of 80 m2, the machine will lose more than 50% of the battery. Thus, with 2-time cleaning mode or a larger house, the robot may fall into a low battery state, having to temporarily stop cleaning to charge to a certain level.

Deebot X11 has the added ability to charge when returning to the dusting station and wash the cleaning cloth. In actual experience, each time the robot returns to the dusting station for about 3 minutes, the battery in the robot increases by about 5-6%. With the above cleaning area, the X11 model has nearly 80% remaining after cleaning. Thanks to that, the new robot model can meet the needs of much larger houses or rooms.

Other functions of the X11 model have also been upgraded in many small aspects. The mop part has been added with a nylon strip, which can wipe away stubborn stains better. The company said that the self-cleaning process of the roller is also different, with an additional "soaking" step at the cleaning base with 75-degree hot water. The detergent compartment also has an additional box for stronger detergent to meet the stubborn stains.

The X11's sensors and positioning are hidden inside the body, helping the body not have a protruding bump. During use, this robot model avoids obstacles such as medium-sized toys, towels, socks or charging cords lying in the middle of the floor. However, sometimes when encountering carpets with thin edges or charging cords protruding from the corner of the cabinet, the robot can still get caught in them.

In addition to the main wheel, the new robot has an additional wheel, which helps the machine overcome ledges with a height of 2.4 cm, or 4 cm with 2 consecutive ledges. This could be the key to helping the robot "escape" when mistakenly entering the bathroom, which often has a lower floor, or going over ledges in doors.

After the announcement in Vietnamese on many models in 2024, the X11 generation is also the first Ecovacs robot to support Vietnamese voice commands. Users activate with the command "Ok Yiko", then command cleaning with the syntax for the machine to vacuum or mop the floor or return to the station. This is truly a friendly feature for the elderly, children or housekeepers, providing the ability to command and control without using the app on the phone. The ability to recognize commands is good, just standing in the same room and speaking at an average level is enough for the robot to receive the command.

Dust box, fast charging when returning to the station and commands in Vietnamese are improvements that can significantly change the experience of using the robot, but users who are not passionate about this product line may find it difficult to recognize. Besides, Deebot X11 Omnicyclone still meets all cleaning features well, and is the company's most advanced model in Vietnam with a price of 26 million. For those who do not like having to empty the dust and clean the dust box themselves, the company also has the Deebot X11 Pro Omni option with the only difference being the use of a regular dust bag, with a price of 25 million.
