Woman gives birth on Thong Nhat train

After about 10 minutes of assistance, the 38-year-old woman safely gave birth to a baby girl on the Thong Nhat SE4 train while passing through Thanh Hoa province in the early morning of June 6.

At 1:40 a.m., train SE4 departed from Saigon station on its way to the North. When arriving in Thanh Hoa province, flight attendant Le Minh Thai discovered that passenger Le Thi Hong Hoa, traveling from Bien Hoa station to Hanoi , was lying in bed number 5, car 6, with a stomachache and broken water, a sign of impending labor.

Train captain Le Thanh Van (Southern Railway Attendant Group) said that the train staff immediately called on passengers with medical expertise to come to car 6 to assist. Ten minutes later, the pregnant woman safely gave birth to a baby girl on the train with the assistance of the train staff and a passenger with medical expertise.

The train arrived at Thanh Hoa station at 2:07 a.m. the same day. The train crew handed over Ms. Hoa and her child along with their luggage to the railway staff at the station to transfer them to the nearest medical facility.
