As is known, due to many riots across the country, Nepal was unable to host the match against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers in October. The AFC assessed that the South Asian country was not qualified to host an international match.
Therefore, the Asian football governing body decided to move the match in Nepal to Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City. The two teams will play the first leg on October 9 at Go Dau Stadium and the rematch 5 days later at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
But that was the October clash, where the risk of unrest still lingered. The Nepal vs Malaysia match was a month later. By November, security threats in Nepal were expected to have subsided.

However, the AFC still insisted on stripping Nepal of the hosting rights. The reason is that in the recent riots, some infrastructure of the national stadium in the capital Kathmandu was damaged, making it unable to host international events.
On Astro Arena, AFC General Secretary Seri Windsor Paul John confirmed that the match will be held at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. This match is part of the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers and will take place on November 18.
In the first leg on Malaysia's field, the Tigers won 2-0. With a superior squad and playing at home, it is not impossible that Malaysia will crush the Nepal team. Currently, Malaysia is leading with 6 absolute points after 2 matches, ranked below them is the Vietnam team with 3 points. Laos also has 3 points and Nepal is at the bottom.
