Launch of the "Savings Test Tube" program

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health , about 7-10% of couples of reproductive age in Vietnam are facing infertility problems. However, the cost of IVF treatment remains a major barrier, especially for manual laborers, workers, farmers or freelancers – people who rarely have access to modern reproductive support services.

In the context of declining birth rates and the Government encouraging women under 35 to have two children, expanding treatment opportunities for low-income groups is considered a solution with profound social significance.

With the motto of “effective and economical”, Quoc Anh Fertility Support Center (IVF Quoc Anh, under Quoc Anh Hospital) has pioneered in the field of community-oriented reproductive support through the “Economical Test Tube” program, helping low-income families in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southwest region have the opportunity to access safe and effective reproductive support services at affordable costs.

Doctor Ly Thien Trung, Head of the Reproductive Support Unit, performs assisted reproductive intervention techniques.

The center aims to serve couples who want to have children with low to middle income, living and working in the western area of Ho Chi Minh City with a variety of occupations such as factory workers, small traders, farmers, car repairmen, construction workers, technology drivers... - people who have never thought of entering an IVF center because they are hesitant about the cost being beyond their ability or feel that this is not the place for them.

The program offers 50 free infertility examinations for couples who are having infertility examinations for the first time, helping to share the initial cost burden and opening up real opportunities for couples who want to have children but are still hesitant due to limited financial conditions. Each examination includes: In-depth infertility examination and consultation; gynecological ultrasound; semen analysis.

These are basic examination steps but are the key to early identification of the cause of infertility, thereby having the most timely and appropriate treatment. For poor families, this free examination can be a "small action" but is enough to open up a "big dream" of a clearer future of parenthood. The program will take place in October 2025 until 50 slots are filled.

Promote reproductive knowledge sharing for workers

In parallel with the "Saving Test Tube" program, the unit also promotes activities to share reproductive health knowledge for workers in industrial parks - a group of people who have little access to specialized medical information.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong - the pioneer in bringing IVF technology to Vietnam shared that the program also aims to encourage couples to proactively visit the doctor early to determine infertility (if any) for timely treatment.

Dr. Ly Thien Trung, Head of the Reproductive Support Unit, shares reproductive knowledge with workers.

To kick off this series of activities, on October 11, IVF Quoc Anh experts held a communication and consultation session on the topic "Infertility: causes and treatment directions" for hundreds of workers at PouYuen Company Limited (Ho Chi Minh City).

The sharing session was presented by Dr. Ly Thien Trung, Head of the Reproductive Support Unit, helping workers better understand the common causes of infertility, the importance of early examination and current treatment methods.

The activity received positive response from many workers, many of whom had their first access to scientific knowledge about reproductive health and modern reproductive support techniques.

“Many people think that infertility only happens in well-off families. In fact, reproductive health problems can happen to anyone. Therefore, being provided with the right knowledge and early examination is extremely important. IVF Quoc Anh wants to bring this authentic medical information to workers who are living and working so that they do not miss the opportunity to become parents,” said Dr. Trung.

From now until the end of 2025, the unit will organize many similar communication sessions in industrial parks and residential areas in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, contributing to spreading the message: reproductive health care is not only an action for oneself, but also for the happiness of the whole family and the future of society.
