President Luong Cuong attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony. Also present were Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; leaders of central ministries and branches; the Vietnam Farmers' Union and especially the presence of outstanding farmers and scientists of typical farmers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association affirmed: "Outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2025 are bright examples, typical and advanced with impressive achievements in production and business; in the new rural construction movement, the movement of all people participating in protecting national security".
At the ceremony, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union honored and awarded the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer to 63 outstanding individuals and honored 32 farmer scientists in 2025.
The youngest outstanding farmer is Mr. Nguyen Tung Duong, 25 years old (born in 2000) from Lang Chanh village, Tam Duong Bac commune, Phu Tho province with a model of making yellow flower tea and trading seedlings with a profit of 1.2 billion VND/year. The oldest outstanding farmer is Mr. Chu Van Sam, 77 years old (born in 1948) from Dong Danh village, An Nghia commune, Phu Tho province with a model of raising dairy cows and business services with a profit of 1.4 billion VND/year.
The farmer with the highest revenue is Ho Phi Thuy (Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province) with a pearl farming model combined with eco-tourism, a production area of 1,000 hectares, producing 320,000 pearls/year with revenue of 95 - 150 billion VND; the second is farmer Nguyen Chi Linh (to Ap Bo Cang, Long Dien commune, Ca Mau province) with a white-leg shrimp farming model, with revenue of 90 billion VND/year.
The 32 2025 agricultural scientists were selected through many nomination rounds and different introduction channels. They are the most outstanding scientists in various fields.
Many scientists have good inventions and innovations such as: Invention of automatic cassava cutting machine using solar energy by Mr. Pham Van Thanh (Krong Pa, Gia Lai); Invention of mouse trap without bait and crescent-shaped bird repeller by Mr. Tran Quang Thieu - Executive Committee member of Vietnam Mechanical Association from Thuong Tin, Hanoi; Invention of automatic cassava cutting machine using solar energy by Mr. Pham Van Thanh (Gia Lai); intensive crab farming model by Mr. Nguyen Viet Bac (Ca Mau).

Farmers must truly be the subject and center in agricultural and rural economic development.
Congratulating the outstanding Vietnamese farmers and farmers' scientists who were honored, President Luong Cuong stated that throughout the history of the Vietnamese nation, our farmers have played a very important role and made great contributions in the process of reclaiming land, expanding territory, founding the country, building and defending the Fatherland.
During the 95 years of construction, development and growth, under the leadership of Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Red Peasants' Association, now the Vietnam Farmers' Union, has continuously grown, becoming a large socio-political organization, representing the will, aspirations, and legitimate and legal rights of the peasant class.
President Luong Cuong said that the Association has made many great contributions to the struggles for national independence, national unification, and national construction and protection in the new period. The Vietnam Farmers' Association has actively accompanied the country, organizations, social forces and farmers to promote emulation in labor production, socio-economic development, new rural construction, preservation and promotion of national cultural identity, political security, social order and safety, improvement of material and spiritual life, and promotion of the role of Vietnamese farmers.
"In the context of facing many challenges such as climate change, natural disasters and epidemics, unpredictable impacts of the global market, in recent years, Vietnam's agricultural sector has steadfastly risen up, achieving very impressive achievements. Agriculture has always been the pillar and solid foundation for stability and development, contributing to curbing inflation, stabilizing the macro-economy, promoting growth and ensuring national food security," President Luong Cuong emphasized.
According to the President, Vietnam has not only become a global bright spot in poverty reduction but also become the world's leading agricultural exporter. This achievement is due to the contributions and continuous creative efforts of millions of farming households and the effective support of intellectuals and scientists. The 63 outstanding farmers representing more than 3.6 million good farmers and businessmen in the country and the 32 scientists of farmers honored today are truly the most outstanding representatives of the results of tireless and tireless work, strongly inspiring the aspirations and motivation to contribute to the country and the community of the Vietnamese people on the path to building a prosperous, civilized and happy country.
The President requested the Vietnam Farmers' Union to promote its glorious tradition of 95 years of establishment, development and growth. Farmers' Unions at all levels need to continue to perform well their role of representing the legitimate rights and interests of members and farmers; effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws on agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
The President emphasized that the Vietnam Farmers' Union needs to promote emulation movements associated with new rural construction, especially the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty", attracting a large number of members, farmers from all regions, ethnic groups, especially remote areas, and areas with many difficulties to participate; together build modern rural areas with synchronous socio-economic infrastructure; green, clean and beautiful environment; healthy and rich cultural life, imbued with national identity; political security, order and social safety are ensured, so that farmers in rural areas can have a better life.
The President hopes that the Association will continue to arouse and promote patriotism, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-control, and the desire to become rich legitimately; farmers must truly be the subject and center in agricultural development, rural economy, and new rural construction.
Emphasizing that the task of building the peasant class and consolidating a strong worker-farmer-intellectual alliance under the Party's leadership is a matter of principle and the foundation of the cause of "Great National Unity", the President requested that Farmers' Associations at all levels must have high determination, good measures, and closely coordinate with intellectuals and scientists to support and help farmers improve the quality of agricultural commodity production chains; at the same time, promote innovation, digital transformation in agriculture, protect the ecological environment; proactively integrate internationally and preserve national cultural identity.
The President hopes that the "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers" and "Farmer Scientists" honored today will continue to write and spread inspirational stories; continue to contribute, maintain creative ways of doing things, and unite and help each other to become rich for themselves, their families and the country, and follow the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho: "Make sure the poor have enough to eat, those who have enough to eat are well-off and rich; those who are well-off and rich are richer."
Also at the Honoring Ceremony, a special epic art program was held titled "Glory of Vietnamese Farmers" to recreate the 95-year journey of the Vietnamese peasant class accompanying the country, with extremely great contributions in each revolutionary stage of the country.
