EVNCPC joins hands to support flood victims and Cuban people

(Chinhphu.vn) - Promoting the spirit of "mutual love", the staff and employees of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) have joined hands to contribute more than 5.1 billion VND to support people in the Central and Northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storms and floods and help the Cuban people overcome difficulties.

Khanh Hoa Power Company's employees contribute to support people affected by storms and floods in the northern provinces.

After 5 days of launching the fundraising movement among all EVNCPC employees, the total amount of donations reached more than 5.1 billion VND. The campaign was implemented at 20 affiliated grassroots trade union organizations, including 17 member units and 3 units with capital contributions, with more than 11,740 employees participating.

Many units have high contributions, in which Da Nang Electricity Company, Dak Lak Electricity Company and Gia Lai Electricity Company each donated over 750 million VND; Quang Ngai Electricity Company contributed nearly 600 million VND.

According to the campaign, each employee contributed one day's salary. The donations were transferred to the Corporation's Trade Union Mutual Fund by the units for EVNCPC to compile and send to Vietnam Electricity Group, to support the people of the Central and Northern provinces to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods and to help the Cuban people.

In addition, through the local Red Cross, many Power companies have also proactively supported the Cuban people with hundreds of millions of VND, typically Quang Tri Power Company mobilized 205 million VND, Dak Lak Power Company nearly 167 million VND, Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company 162 million VND. Khanh Hoa Power Company, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province, also supported more than 235 million VND, bringing the total contribution of units in EVNCPC to nearly 769 million VND.

Along with that, many individuals in the whole Corporation have also voluntarily contributed to support the Cuban people and those affected by storms and floods. These activities demonstrate the proactive spirit, responsibility and affection of the Central region electricity workers in social security work for the community.

Quang Tri Electricity Company contributes to support the Cuban people

Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of EVNCPC, said: "Recently, people in the Central and Northern provinces have suffered heavy losses due to storms and floods; besides, the Cuban people are also facing many difficulties. Each day's salary contribution is a heart of sharing, a noble gesture showing the spirit of mutual love of EVNCPC employees with their compatriots and international friends."

It is known that from the beginning of 2025 up to now, the Central Power Corporation has spent over 11.6 billion VND on social security activities in the area, including: 5.9 billion VND to build charity houses; 243 million VND for the "Lighting up the Countryside" program; supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and over 4.11 billion VND for programs to support the poor, students, policy families, orphans, poor patients... The entire amount is taken from the welfare fund, mutual support fund and contributions of EVNCPC employees.
