The State Council of Professors has just announced the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors of all disciplines and interdisciplinary disciplines to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.
Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone Joint Stock Company is one of four candidates for professorship in the Council of Professors of Mechanical Engineering - Power . He is known as one of the richest billionaires on the Vietnamese stock market.
Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang was born in 1964 in Nam Dinh (old). According to the profile on the website of the State Council of Professors, Mr. Nang graduated with a bachelor's degree in Internal Combustion Engines from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 1986. In 1992, he received a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. In 2022, he was recognized as an Associate Professor (PGS) in the field of Power.
He received a part-time university degree from the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi . He participated and was awarded a certificate of completion of the 40-week English course on Engineering Management "Engineering Management Training Course" at RMIT University; and was awarded a certificate of additional knowledge for graduate students in Russian at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang was a lecturer at the Faculty of Power Mechanics, School of Mechanical Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. After that, he took on the role of researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Mechanics and Post-Harvest Technology; guiding graduate students and teaching students at the Vietnam Institute of Agricultural Mechanics.
In July 2017, he started working at Phenikaa University as a lecturer and Chairman of the University Council. From July 2020 to present, Mr. Nang has concurrently held the positions of General Director and Chairman of the University Council of Phenikaa University. He is also a member of the National Council for Education and Human Resources Development for the 2022-2026 term.
Not only a scientist, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang is also known as a successful businessman in the field of high-end construction materials. He used to hold the position of Deputy Chief of Office of Vinaconex Corporation; Director of Vinaconex High-end Stone Factory
From June 2014 to present, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinaconex High-end Stone Factory (now Vicostone JSC). From December 2016, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of A&A Green Phoenix Group JSC. At the end of 2024, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang ranked 11th in the list of richest people on the Vietnamese stock market with an estimated asset of VND 8,930 billion (according to statistics of stock exchanges).
Throughout his career, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang has received many noble awards: First, Second, and Third Class Labor Medals from the President; Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, the title of National Emulation Fighter, and many awards for scientific and technological innovation.
