Top 10 richest women in Vietnam stock market

According to statistics, as of the end of the trading session on August 11, 2023, the total assets of the 10 richest women in the Vietnamese stock market were VND 94,144 billion, a sharp increase of nearly VND 15,000 billion compared to last year's VND 79,374 billion.

The top 10 list has almost no changes, specifically, the top 6 remains in the same position as in 2022, the 4 positions in the top 10 list have been changed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao

Holding the top position is still CEO of VietJet Air, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao . She owns assets reaching the milestone of 22,039 billion VND from stock codes HDB ( Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank) and VJC (VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company). This number decreased slightly by 5.7% compared to 2022.

She is the only Vietnamese female billionaire in the list of world billionaires in 2023 announced by Forbes. In addition to running VietJet Air, businesswoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is known as the Standing Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Sovico Joint Stock Company, Chairwoman of the Board of Members of Huong Duong Sunny Investment Company Limited.

The runner-up is the wife of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong (Vingroup), Ms. Pham Thu Huong , who is currently holding the "hot seat" of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup. The remaining 2 positions in the top 6 are the "mother-in-law - daughter-in-law" pair of Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) - where Mr. Ngo Chi Dung is Chairman of the Board of Directors. In turn, Ms. Hoang Anh Minh (Mr. Ngo Chi Dung's wife) owns 7,188 billion VND with VPB shares and Ms. Vu Thi Quyen (Mr. Ngo Chi Dung's mother) owns 7,169 billion VND also from VPB stock code.

Her total assets on the stock exchange reached 6,423 billion VND in 2 stock codes MSN (Masan Group), TCB (Tecombank).

8th place belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga with 6,414 billion VND on the floor in stock code SSB (Southeast Asia Bank), this position is 1 step down compared to 2022 (in 7th place).

Ms. Nga is known as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of BRG Group Corporation, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Intimex Vietnam Corporation, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Tourism and Services Corporation and holds executive positions in several other companies.

The last 2 positions in the list of 10 richest women on the stock exchange continue to come from 2 major shareholders of VPBank.

9th place belongs to Ms. Kim Ngoc Cam Ly , wife of Vice Chairman of VPBank Board of Directors Bui Hai Quan. She owns stock code VPB , assets reaching 6,305 billion VND.

Finally, there is Ms. Ly Thi Thu Ha , mother of Mr. Lo Bang Giang (Vice Chairman of VPBank Board of Directors). She is holding 6,206 billion VND of VPB shares.

Thus, after 1 year, the top 6 still maintain the same position as in 2022. Although assets have decreased slightly compared to last year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao still maintains the leading position, creating a large gap with the "beauties" in the group.

The remaining 4 positions have a slight change. Ms. Truong Thi Le Khanh (Chairwoman of Vinh Hoan Group) is no longer in the top 10, which helps the 2 major shareholders of "VPBank" to be in the top 10 at positions 9 and 10. In addition, the "VPBank family" has the most members appearing in the list when 4/10 positions come from the stock code VPB of VPBank Joint Stock Commercial Bank (at positions 5, 6, 9, 10).
