Pilot tour "Rural tourism associated with promoting indigenous cultural values"

On October 4 and 5, the Center for Rural Development - Saemaul Undong (under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Ai Tay commune to organize a program to evaluate the pilot tour design "Rural tourism associated with promoting indigenous cultural values" in the southern region of Khanh Hoa province. Attending were leaders of the Central and Khanh Hoa Provincial New Rural Coordination Office; experts, scientists, and many travel agencies and tourism service businesses inside and outside the province.

The tour includes many activities such as: Visiting the Raglai people's cultural space; experiencing the ethnic cultural and artistic program, Phuoc Binh National Park, Cham people's cultural space...

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Director of the Center for Rural Development - Saemaul Undong, said: This is one of the activities under the Project "Promoting indigenous cultural values ​​in rural tourism development associated with new rural construction in Ninh Thuan province" approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), contributing to the implementation of the Science and Technology Program serving new rural construction in the period 2021-2025. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan hopes that through the pilot tour, relevant units can more clearly see the potential as well as challenges in infrastructure, skills, market, community capacity, towards perfecting tourism products that both have economic value, preserve cultural identity, and create sustainable livelihoods for the community.
