
As soon as there was a forecast of the complexity and danger of storm No. 11, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee urgently directed and requested its affiliated units to proactively monitor weather reports and promptly inform the Youth Union members. Implementing the direction of the Provincial Youth Union, the grassroots youth unions proactively prepared and stockpiled essential supplies such as raincoats, flashlights, life buoys, etc., while promoting propaganda, warnings, and guidance on storm and flood prevention and avoidance skills; developing propaganda graphics and documents on disaster response skills on social networks, the union's fanpage, and the grassroots loudspeaker system.
Immediately after the storm, 24 "4 on-site" youth volunteer teams were activated in affected localities, with many households flooded and isolated. Volunteer team members were equipped with first aid, initial rescue, and property relocation skills, coordinating with the police, army, and militia forces of the communes to carry out rescue work, property relocation, and support people in damaged areas.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung, Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Huu Lung Commune, said: From the afternoon of October 8, the Commune Youth Union mobilized 15 Youth Union members in the central area to support the teams transporting relief goods, distributing relief goods to isolated households as well as bringing stranded people to safety. On the morning of October 9, the water began to recede, the Commune Youth Union continued to mobilize more than 200 Youth Union members and youth in the villages to participate in supporting the cleaning and sanitation work at agencies, headquarters and households.
In Tan Tri commune, storm No. 11 affected Tan Tri Kindergarten, the surrounding wall collapsed, the school yard was covered in mud, affecting the teaching and learning activities of the school. In that situation, Tan Tri commune's Youth Union mobilized the Youth Union to coordinate with the school's staff and teachers to clean up, collect trash, trim trees, clear sewers, level mud... to help the school welcome students back soon.
At 3 a.m. on October 7, the house of Mrs. Hoang Thi Thieu's family in Khuoi Kiec village, Thien Long commune was buried by a landslide, causing the house to collapse and be completely damaged. Fortunately, all four members of the family were safe. After hearing the news, Thien Long commune's Youth Union mobilized 20 youth union members to quickly clear rocks, trees, collect household items, and usable wooden furniture to build a temporary house, helping Mrs. Thieu's family gradually stabilize their lives.
Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Youth Union, Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said: In the face of the complicated developments and heavy damage caused by storm No. 11, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has directed all levels of the provincial Youth Union to establish rapid response teams including volunteer youth union members to participate in supporting the affected areas. Regardless of day or night, thousands of youth union members have been present at key points, participating in building dikes, reinforcing embankments, bracing houses, moving property and supporting people to evacuate to safe places. Currently, the volunteer youth force is continuing to clean up mud, clean schools, medical stations, and cultural houses, helping people to stabilize their lives soon; at the same time, supporting the provision and distribution of necessities, clean water, essential items and harvesting crops for farming households. We are currently continuing to connect and mobilize social resources to support affected agencies, schools, and households to overcome immediate difficulties.
Currently, the Youth Unions in the province are mobilizing all their forces, coordinating with the authorities to restore the operations of agencies, schools, hospitals and civil works. The Youth Union also supports people in cleaning up mud, cleaning the environment, treating water sources, and preventing diseases for people and animals. In addition, the Youth Unions of the communes also arrange forces and mobilize vehicles to clear trees and landslides to contribute to ensuring traffic safety and overcoming damage related to the power system.
In unaffected areas, the Youth Union has proactively gone to flooded areas to participate in rescue and relief work as well as support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives; participate in welcoming and guiding volunteer groups; mobilize social resources to support affected areas... In the past 2 days, the Provincial Youth Union has received goods and necessities worth more than 70 million VND. Immediately after receiving the goods and necessities, they were transferred to That Khe, Trang Dinh and Huu Lung communes to support people.
With a large force and timely presence, the Youth Union in the province has actively supported in solving the immediate difficulties caused by storm No. 11, contributing to stabilizing the operations of agencies, schools, hospitals and people's lives. In the coming time, the Youth Union will continue to accompany households to clean up, repair houses, harvest crops to restore life and restore production.
