Railway industry offers free relief goods for people in natural disasters

Vietnam Railways Corporation has deployed free transportation of relief goods to people in affected areas.

This is a practical action demonstrating the responsibility and sharing of the railway industry with people in disaster areas, contributing to the whole country overcoming the consequences after the storm.

Accordingly, Vietnam Railways Corporation will receive and transport relief goods from organizations and individuals free of charge through the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and centrally-run cities. This activity aims to ensure relief goods are transported smoothly, promptly and safely to people in disaster-hit areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation recommends that organizations and individuals contact the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities for specific instructions on procedures for receiving and sending relief goods.

The work of receiving and unloading goods is organized at qualified terminal stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... Relief goods will be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.

The free shipping program will be implemented from October 10 until further notice. Vietnam Railways Corporation requests agencies, organizations and localities to closely coordinate in receiving, loading and distributing goods, in order to provide timely support to people in flood-affected areas.
