When mentioning An Giang, every cadre and party member expresses pride in the strength of "high mountains, wide seas, long rivers, rich plains", but somewhere there is still a mentality of comparing in assigning tasks, dissatisfaction with new seating arrangements, complaints about having to work far from home...

Ms. NTHG is working at a Party building committee under the Provincial Party Committee, her husband was assigned to a commune quite far from Long Xuyen ward after the administrative unit rearrangement. “The children are still young, one is in grade 9, the other is in grade 5, I rely on a motorbike taxi service to take them to school. Because it is the final year of high school, my husband and I are not at ease, taking turns going home every day to monitor and tutor our children. Going to work at 5am in the morning and returning home in the evening is also very tiring, but my husband and I still share and encourage each other for the common task,” Ms. G said. In addition to family obligations and having to travel a long distance, the problem of eating, staying and working at the new place also causes some difficulties for cadres from Long Xuyen ward to Rach Gia ward, especially women. “When I was used to family meals, I now often have to eat out with unfamiliar tastes. Lying alone in a rented room makes it harder to sleep than in a cozy home. The culture of the new workplace is also very different. However, that was the feeling at first, now I'm gradually getting used to it,” Ms. G confided.

Mr. NVC, a civil servant working in Rach Gia ward, said: "If you determine that the job is not suitable and you cannot adapt to the new environment, then just quit. I think the support policy for cadres affected by the arrangement is very good. If you decide to stay and work, you must wholeheartedly complete the task instead of complaining, so why don't you find a way to integrate and determine a long-term goal to strive for?", Mr. C expressed his opinion.

Get rid of the idea of "your hometown, my hometown"

In addition to promoting economic advantages, one of the key tasks identified by the 1st Provincial Party Congress is "Building a clean, strong, streamlined, effective, efficient and effective Party and political system". The requirement of being compact but strong requires unity in thought and action of the entire political system and each cadre and party member to consolidate a belief in victory for a new An Giang.

After the merger, the Provincial Party Committee now has 107 Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee, with 931 grassroots Party organizations and 131,548 Party members. After the district level was abolished, 102 Party Committees of communes, wards, and special zones became grassroots Party Committees, directly managed by the Provincial Party Committee. There is no longer an intermediate level, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws go directly from the province to the commune level, ensuring speed and efficiency. However, somewhere there is still the idea of discriminating between "your hometown, my hometown", "your soldiers, my soldiers" in the assignment of tasks and behavioral relationships, causing inferiority complex, comparison, and failure to unify "one vision", "one will" to complete the common task.

Building a strong Party in ideology is not something too big or far away, but right in the will and actions of each Party organization and Party member, especially the viewpoints and thinking of the leader. If you want cadres working far away to have stable ideology and peace of mind at work, in addition to the cadres' own efforts to adapt, it is very necessary to have harmony, sharing, and wholehearted help from colleagues in the new place. In particular, leaders in agencies, units, and localities need to show an impartial and objective attitude in assigning work, giving rewards, criticizing, building a truly democratic and united working environment and office culture, erasing the gap between "old people" and "new people".

Party Central Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai said that the merger of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces opens up many development opportunities thanks to synchronous investment in transport infrastructure, diverse culture, creating soft driving force for sustainable development. The convergence of economic potential between the delta, border, sea and islands opens up a large development space, forming a multi-sector, multi-sector economy, both effectively exploiting the strengths of agriculture and freshwater aquaculture and maximizing the potential of the marine economy and border trade economy.

However, potential will remain potential if the thinking is not clear and the thinking is not unanimous. For An Giang to break through and affirm its role as a new development center of the Southwest region, it requires high determination, great efforts, especially the joint efforts and consensus for "one An Giang" of each cadre, party member, business and citizen.
