Delegates performed the button-pressing ceremony to open the Trade Promotion Fair for Agricultural Products and OCOP Products in the Northwest Region - Son La 2025.
Participating in the Fair are 250 booths from 10 provinces and cities in the country and 5 provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The booths display, sell and introduce the achievements of socio -economic development of communes, wards, enterprises, cooperatives; tourism products, safe agricultural products, OCOP products, handicrafts, etc.
Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Muoi Noi Commune, Son La Province, Quang Thi Phuong, said: This fair is a great opportunity to introduce the potential, strengths, and promote the commune's key agricultural products and OCOP products to consumers and businesses in and outside the province and the whole country.
In addition, the fair helps farmers, cooperatives, and businesses in the commune connect, cooperate, exchange, and learn experiences in the production and processing process; access new science and technology to invest in the agricultural sector, gradually build a value chain for the commune's key fruit trees to develop in a stable, sustainable direction, and increase income.
Speaking at the fair, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, Head of the Fair Organizing Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong emphasized: The organization of the Trade Promotion Fair for Agricultural Products and OCOP Products in the Northwest - Son La 2025 is not only an event to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of Son La province but also an opportunity to promote and introduce the potential and strengths of OCOP products, typical rural industrial products. Contributing to affirming the brand of Northwest agricultural products in general, Son La province in particular.
Delegates visited the booth of Xay Nha Bu Ly province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, displayed at the Fair.
Along with that, it creates opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and business households to connect supply and demand, sign contracts, expand consumption markets, and move towards sustainable exports. It is a bridge to promote economic and trade cooperation between localities across the country, especially strengthening solidarity, friendship, and development cooperation between the Northwestern provinces of Vietnam and some Northern Lao provinces.
Over the past years, with the attention and direction of central ministries and branches, the close coordination of local departments and branches, and the support of the business community, Son La agricultural products in particular and the Northwest region in general have gradually affirmed their position in the domestic and international markets.
In the first 9 months of 2025 alone, the province's agricultural production continued to remain stable, the concentrated fruit growing area was guaranteed, and the output was higher than planned. Along with that, the management of raw material areas was strengthened to serve consumption and export.
Booth of Xay Som Bun province, Lao People's Democratic Republic participated in the Fair.
Currently, the whole province maintains an area of fruit trees of about 85,050 hectares, of which the area for products is more than 67,000 hectares, with an estimated output of over 510,000 tons; the total output of agricultural products consumed is 460,383 tons, equal to 90% of the yearly plan, with an estimated value of 4,356.7 billion VND; of which, the consumption of fresh fruits is 370,706 tons, worth 3,862.4 billion VND; processed fruits are 84,875 tons, worth 570.3 billion VND; exported are 4,802.5 tons, worth 42.84 billion VND.
Through the Fair, businesses, cooperatives, and production and business households in Son La province continue to introduce products, seek cooperation opportunities, sign contracts, and build brands associated with quality, reputation, and social responsibility.
The fair will run until October 12.
