Accordingly, the railway industry decided to stop trains running on the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway route (departing from Dong Anh station (Hanoi) to Quan Trieu station (Thai Nguyen); at the same time, initially, it will dump boulders in the area where the flood eroded the soil to prevent the flow from causing flooding in the downstream area, limiting the impact on the people.
“The Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway only runs freight trains, so it does not affect passenger transport. Due to the nature of the section of road that had the incident lying along rice fields, in the long term there will be a plan to build a drainage system through here to avoid situations like the one just happened,” added a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation .
Previously, high, fast-flowing floodwaters swept away about 30 meters of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway line in the Da Phuc - Trung Gia section, causing the railway to stop operating.
