(Dan Tri) - The exhibition "Hello Vietnam" is not only an opportunity for Vietnamese artists to express their artistic perspectives but also a journey to find their roots through each brushstroke.

The exhibition "Hello Vietnam" brings together four Vietnamese-American artists: Anh Bach (Bach Hoang Anh), Mina Ho Ferrante (Ho Mong Nha Uyen), Tim Nguyen (Nguyen Ky Quy) and Ly Tran (Tran Phuong Ly).

The event took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts from February 3 to February 21, offering diverse perspectives on art by authors living and working in the US.

Although living in different states, the artists found common ground through their Vietnamese roots. It was this commonality that helped them connect and come together to create the exhibition "Hello Vietnam".

According to artist Mina Ho Ferrante, the idea for the exhibition originated from the wish of Tim Nguyen - who had expressed his wish to one day return to Vietnam to paint and introduce his works. It was this conversation that laid the foundation for this artistic journey.

Painter Ly Tran shared: "From strangers, living in different time zones, we found each other through art and returned to our homeland to exhibit."

Returning to Vietnam to exhibit his works for the first time after more than 20 years living in Hawaii, Tim Nguyen brings a series of paintings depicting daily life on this island.

"I feel lucky to live and do what I love in the middle of the blue sea and white sand. I want to portray life here in a realistic, gentle but still artistic way.

The exhibition is not only an opportunity to introduce the works but also an opportunity for us to meet and exchange experiences. For me, drawing is not only a passion but also a profession," Tim Nguyen confided.

Meanwhile, Ly Tran pursues the conceptual realism style. Her works express thoughts, emotions and aspirations through metaphorical patterns, sometimes creating a sense of absurdity, far from reality.

Mr. Bach chose the theme of women, depicting them in peaceful and fulfilling moments, such as reading, applying makeup or enjoying the golden sunshine.

"In real life, women have so many worries and hardships. Therefore, in my paintings, I want them to appear relaxed and happy," the artist shared.

Bach's works use soft colors and symbolic shapes, expressing the peaceful beauty of women.
