Developing the labor market and creating jobs for students and workers is a task that all levels and sectors in Can Tho City are interested in. In the first 9 months of 2025, universities and vocational training institutions will proactively deploy flexible and effective training methods; strengthen business connections; promote communication, enrollment consulting, career guidance, etc. Along with that, employment service centers will organize many consulting and job introduction activities.

Expanding job opportunities for students

At the end of September, Can Tho Vocational College coordinated to organize the 2025 job fair. The fair had more than 20 reputable businesses and recruitment units operating in many fields: mechanics, electricity - electronics, trade, services... participating, with the need to recruit thousands of employees.

Coming to the festival, nearly 2,000 students visited the booths of recruitment units; listened to representatives of recruitment units share their job search experiences; had their questions answered about labor and employment policies at home and abroad... Thanks to that, it helps students improve their job search skills, update the actual needs of the labor market, and orient their long-term career development.

Visiting the booths of many businesses at the job fair, I saw that there were many positions suitable for the profession I am studying."

Can Tho Vocational College also recently organized a seminar on Daikin Air Conditioning Technology and a career orientation seminar for students. Daikin is one of the leading brands in the field of air conditioning. Over the years, Can Tho Vocational College and the company have been trusted partners, training and co-certifying hundreds of Daikin technicians online.

Previously, Can Tho University organized the event “Germany Career Orientation Bus”, creating opportunities for students to access vocational training programs associated with practice and global trends. Can Tho College of Economics and Technology has just signed a cooperation agreement with 9 partners in the fields of economics, banking, food technology, science and technology, agriculture, etc. The signing of the cooperation demonstrates the school's commitment to students in training high-quality human resources, solving employment after graduation; at the same time, expanding relations with prestigious corporations and enterprises in the fields of training.

Implement multiple solutions simultaneously

In recent times, universities, vocational training institutions, and Youth Union chapters at all levels in the city have always paid attention to organizing many academic playgrounds to help students develop soft skills. Notable programs include: the Business Challenge startup competition, with the theme "Mekong Tech", associated with the exhibition of graduation projects of final-year students organized by the City Youth Union - Can Tho City Student Association in coordination withFPT University Can Tho branch; the "CTVC Racingbot 2025" competition at Can Tho Vocational College; the Startup CTEC 2025 competition at Can Tho College of Economics and Technology...

To effectively solve employment problems, communes and wards in the city should pay attention to reviewing the needs of workers; creating conditions for them to borrow capital and participate in vocational training programs; implementing the "red carpet" policy to attract investors and large projects... Employment service centers promote regular job consulting and introduction activities at units, localities and training facilities; strengthen the understanding of recruitment needs of enterprises to promptly inform and disseminate information to workers; strengthen labor market forecasting to have more appropriate solutions in job creation.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the Can Tho City Employment Service Center collected and entered into the labor market forecasting software over 12,100 job seekers and nearly 14,500 vacant positions; organized many activities connecting employers and employees; provided job counseling, employment policies and vocational training for over 146,000 people (reaching 78.73% of the yearly plan); introduced domestic and foreign jobs to over 14,700 people. At the same time, the Can Tho City Employment Service Center supported nearly 8,900 employees to submit applications for unemployment benefits on the National Public Service Portal.

Can Tho Youth Employment Service Center coordinated to organize 39 counseling and job introduction programs at schools and localities; promoted labor market information through online platforms, social media channels, etc. At the same time, arranged counselors to work in shifts from 8:00 to 21:00 at the Center's headquarters, helping workers to easily contact.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, in the first 9 months of 2025, Can Tho City created jobs for nearly 90,700 workers, reaching 95.76% of the yearly plan. Of which, nearly 1,750 workers were sent to work abroad under contracts, exceeding the yearly plan by 2.76%.
