450 delegates attend the Ca Mau Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term

(Dan Tri) - On October 16, the 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, held its preparatory session. The Congress had 450 delegates representing more than 82,000 party members in attendance.

Ca Mau organized the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 in a paperless format, applying digital transformation. Before entering the hall to attend, delegates took roll call via facial recognition.

According to the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, from July 1, Ca Mau province (merging Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces) will come into operation with the whole country with new potential and development space.

Ca Mau is the southernmost province of the country, with a natural area of ​​over 7,942km2 and a population of about 2.6 million people. The province has 3 sides bordering the sea, the mainland area borders Can Tho city and An Giang province.

The 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, has the theme "Promoting the heroic revolutionary tradition and solidarity; building a clean and strong Party and political system; making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; taking advantage of opportunities, advantages and potentials of the southernmost province of the Fatherland for comprehensive development, confidently entering a new era with the whole country".

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Breakthrough - Development", the congress expressed the determination and aspiration to rise up and successfully achieve the goal by 2030, Ca Mau will become a growth pole of the Mekong Delta region, a center of rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development.

At the preparatory session, the congress presidium informed that the congress had 450 delegates (53 ex-officio delegates and 397 appointed delegates from 68 Party Committees under the Provincial Party Committee) representing more than 82,000 party members attending the congress.

The content of the congress focused on summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and setting out directions, goals, and tasks for the 2025-2030 term; discussing and contributing opinions to draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress; and announcing the Politburo's decisions on personnel appointments.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that the drafting of documents for this congress is of special importance to Ca Mau province, because this is the first document after the merger of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces.

The process of implementing the document was conducted democratically, scientifically, closely, promoting collective intelligence, widely consulting with cadres, party members, people, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, experts, scientists, and organizing seminars to solicit opinions and contributions to the draft document.

"The draft document's content is prepared based on the summary of 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term (including Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces before the merger), drawing practical lessons and orienting in accordance with the direction of the Politburo; closely following the characteristics, potential, advantages and development requirements of Ca Mau province in the new period", Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan informed.

At the preparatory session, the congress unanimously elected the presidium and secretary, approved the programs, regulations, rules, announcements, etc. related to the preparatory session and the official session.

The 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030 took place from October 16 to 17.
