The network brings together more than 45 research institutes, hospitals, universities and businesses from the two countries, operating in the fields of biotechnology, medicine, agriculture and green economy, including many leading units in Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), said that the Institute will provide a platform for in-depth research on molecular biology, gene technology, microbiology, medicinal materials and biodiversity; at the same time, promote cooperation, exchange of experts and technology transfer with Cuban institutes such as Labiofam and CIGB.

According to Mr. Hoang, the cooperation helps both sides research and develop drugs faster, and receive experienced Cuban technology to deploy and produce in Vietnam, serving the medical, agricultural and environmental needs of the country.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Huu Doanh, Director of the Central Dermatology Hospital, assessed this as a great opportunity to receive and apply Cuba's biotechnology achievements, especially in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The Central Dermatology Hospital is aiming to cooperate in transferring gene technology and skin regeneration cells to serve Vietnamese patients.
