The 18th Hanoi Party Congress held a preparatory session.

On the afternoon of October 15, at the National Convention Center, the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, held a preparatory session.

Attending the preparatory session of the Congress were leaders of the Central Party Committees and 550 delegates representing nearly 500,000 party members of the entire Hanoi Party Committee.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress is expected to lay the foundation for Hanoi to enter a new development phase with the determination to seize opportunities, overcome challenges, build a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital, pioneering with the whole country to enter a new era - an era of prosperous and powerful development of the Vietnamese people, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the country's development goals until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Speaking at the opening of the preparatory session, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized that the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is a very important political event for the Party Committee, government and people of the capital, attracting the attention of agencies, organizations and people of all walks of life in Hanoi and the whole country. The success of the City Party Congress will contribute significantly to the success of the 14th National Party Congress.

The 18th Hanoi Party Congress will carry out four tasks: Summarizing the implementation of the Party Congress resolution for the 2020-2025 term and determining the directions, goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term. Discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress. Electing the Hanoi Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Electing the delegation to attend the 14th Party Congress.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee raised a number of issues. Specifically, regarding the drafting of Congress documents, immediately after the Politburo's directive on Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th Party Congress, the City Party Committee directed the drafting of documents in a timely, serious manner, in accordance with Party regulations and Central guidelines. The draft documents submitted to the Congress were participated in by Party organizations, scientists , experts, intellectuals, a large number of cadres, Party members and people of the Capital, especially the draft documents were discussed and commented on at the Congress of 136 Party Committees under the city.

At the Congress, delegates continued to research and contribute their intelligence to clarify and illustrate the overall picture, affirm the achievements the city has made and the limitations and shortcomings that need to be overcome and corrected, especially recommending and proposing breakthrough solutions for the capital to make a breakthrough in the coming time.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also said that this City Party Congress has many innovations, applying technology to serve the Congress, creating favorable conditions for delegates in studying documents.

At the preparatory session, the Congress elected the Congress Presidium, the Congress Secretariat, and the Delegate Qualification Examination Board; approved the Congress Program for the official session; and reported on the synthesis of comments on the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 18th City Party Congress.
