Flood warning in Long Xuyen Quadrangle continues to rise slowly in the coming days.
The water level on the Hau River at Khanh An station reached its flood peak on October 12 at 488cm, 18cm above alert level II and is slowly decreasing.
Water levels on the internal canals of the Long Xuyen Quadrangle: Vinh Te, Tri Ton, Ba The, Nui Choc - Nang Gu, Rach Gia - Long Xuyen are rising slowly. The highest water level in the past 12 hours reached 1 - 13cm above alarm level II, while on the Nui Choc - Nang Gu canal at Vinh Hanh station it reached alarm level III.
It is forecasted that by October 17, the highest water level on the Hau River at Khanh An station will be at alert level II; on the canals in the Long Xuyen Quadrangle, it will be 5 - 25cm above alert level II. Particularly on the Nui Choc - Nang Gu canal at Vinh Hanh, it will be 5 - 15cm above alert level III.
Warning of the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, canals, ditches and deep flooding in areas outside the dykes; beware of the possibility of landslides on embankments, weak dykes and traffic routes in flooded areas; areas with large and deep flooded areas, strong winds that can create large waves causing erosion and landslides.
