According to GizChina , a recent study by Simple Ghar shows that Apple is the most popular camera phone brand. It is also the brand with the most popular camera equipment, which includes phones and standalone cameras.

To find the most popular camera phone brand or model, Simple Ghar looked at over 470 million photos, and to access all of those photos, the company turned to Flickr — a platform where photographers let viewers know what camera gear they're using by submitting photos taken with their devices.
More importantly, photographers on Flickr tend to provide their settings by sharing metadata in their uploaded photos. This makes it easy to identify which camera device was used to take the photo. Simple Ghar analyzed all this information and came up with an accurate representation of the most popular camera phones in the world's 100 most populous countries.
iPhone is very popular among users for taking photos.
As mentioned, the study is not only based on camera phones but also includes standalone cameras. And in the study, Simple Ghar noted that the iPhone 11 is the most popular camera phone shared on Flickr. To be exact, the iPhone 11 was used to take 13,212,135 photos on Flickr. Meanwhile, Apple's new and current top-of-the-line iPhone 14 Pro Max has only taken 1,894,379 photos on Flickr.
The iPhone 11 is a 4-year-old phone that comes with a dual rear camera setup, both 12MP sensors. The main camera has an F/1.8 wide-angle lens with OIS, while the secondary camera has an F/2.4 ultra-wide lens. These specs may not seem impressive, but they're still enough to make it the most popular camera phone.
The most commonly used standalone cameras
When it comes to standalone cameras, the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is the most popular camera with 11,761,586 photos on Flickr. The Sony A7 III is second with 9,094,495 photos on Flickr. Another major camera brand, Nikon, has the D750 in fourth place with 7,948,418 photos on Flickr.

Finally, Simple Ghar’s assessment also looked at the most popular camera phones in each country. While in many major countries around the world, modern iPhone models are the most popular, in Vietnam, the iPhone 7, which Apple launched in 2016, is the most uploaded by users on Flickr. In addition, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is the most popular standalone camera.
