(CLO) On October 23, the Vietnam Information Security Association - VNISA coordinated with the Department of Information Security ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) to organize a workshop - training on the topic 'Ensuring information security for press and media work', with the accompaniment of World Vision Vietnam.
Former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Chairman of VNISA Nguyen Thanh Hung commented that the field of press and media is also part of the global trend of digital transformation.
In Vietnam, the 'Strategy for digital transformation of journalism to 2025, with a vision to 2030', has been issued by the Prime Minister . In fact, most press agencies are already operating online, implementing electronic journalism.
“Many press agencies with important information resources can be targets of cyber attacks. The targets of the attack can be the information system or end users in the system such as leaders, managers, editors, and reporters of press and media agencies,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung.

Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security Tran Quang Hung said that along with the constant development of cyberspace, threats to network information security for press and media agencies are becoming increasingly complex.
Recently, journalists have also been one of the targets of targeted cyberattack groups, spreading malware to collect, steal or eavesdrop on information, along with politicians and other celebrities.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung emphasized two issues in ensuring information security for press agencies; first of all, it is necessary to strengthen network information security for information systems, because when these systems are attacked, it will have a major impact, causing serious consequences.
“More importantly, each journalist is also an ambassador, a person who conveys messages to the community. Therefore, protecting information security for journalists is very urgent, no less important than protecting information security for the press agency system,” said Mr. Tran Quang Hung.
