Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee, the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 carries the message "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", aiming to honor cultural diversity and enhance people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and international friends.
With 48 participating countries, the event brings together 45 national cultural spaces; 34 international culinary booths; 23 domestic and foreign art troupes; 12 units introducing books and publications; 22 countries participating in the international film screening program.
The first World Cultural Festival takes place from October 10-12, 2025 at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Hanoi.
This is considered the largest international cultural festival ever held in the capital, demonstrating the strong attraction of Hanoi - a center of cultural exchange, where civilizations meet and spread humanistic values.
During the 3-day festival, Thang Long Imperial Citadel will be transformed into a "common home of the world", where music, colors, flavors and emotions blend.
Visitors can enjoy performing arts, music, folk dance, cinema, fine arts and international cuisine in a space of thousand-year heritage. Activities are designed continuously, combining performances, exhibitions, workshops and interactions with the public.
According to the organizers, the opening ceremony will take place on the evening of October 10, the closing ceremony will take place on the evening of October 12 at the central stage of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the two ceremonies will gather many Vietnamese and international artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy, Truc Nhan, Hoang Thuy Linh... The performances combine cross-art and 3D Mapping projections, promising to bring a grand visual feast, conveying the message "Culture is the bridge of humanity, creativity is the common language of the world".
On the evening of October 11, nearly 100 traditional costumes from various countries will be showcased in the most spectacular fashion and art show ever in Vietnam. “Heritage Steps” honors cultural identity and stories told through each material, color and ethnic pattern.
The multi-national cultural space will take place from 9am to 9:30pm on October 11-12. Visitors can walk on the “Cultural Road”, where nearly 50 countries – from China, Korea, Japan, France, Russia to Iran, Angola, Laos, Philippines... introduce their history, art, customs, languages and costumes.
Many special activities will take place at the first World Cultural Festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
In particular, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Hall, cinema lovers can enjoy outstanding works from Vietnam and the world from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (from October 11-12).
From morning to evening on October 11-12, the round stage will be continuously bustling with performances of Central Highlands Gong, Quan Ho, Cheo, Chau Van... along with many performances by artists from Japan, Russia, Cambodia, Iran, Cuba, Malaysia, Venezuela...
Open for two days, October 11-12, the food street brings together typical cuisines of many countries and organizes cooking workshops, bringing a multicultural flavor exchange experience.
With hundreds of diverse activities, the “World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025” is not only a large-scale international cultural event but also a typical foreign affairs activity of Vietnam during the year.
