After being discovered "selling his soul to the devil", Sandro Tonali was kicked out of the Italian national team during the recent training session. However, things did not stop there. Yesterday, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) decided to ban Sandro Tonali from participating in football activities for 10 months.

That means the 22-year-old will miss Newcastle's matches for the rest of the season and will also miss Euro 2024 (if Italy qualify).

Sandro Tonali will also have to undergo eight months of treatment for his gambling addiction. Speaking to the press, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina said: "We cannot talk about punishment without taking measures to help Tonali overcome his gambling addiction.

I think that's worth a lot more than a ban. He'll go through rehab and then speak honestly about his experiences."

Earlier this month, Tonali's agent, Giuseppe Riso, admitted his client struggles with a gambling addiction: "Sandro has a gambling addiction. He has to fight to get rid of his demons. I am sure he will win this fierce battle.

Tonali is really shocked, shaken and sad. I hope this bad experience will save his life and many others from gambling addiction."

Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has been banned for seven months along with Sandro Tonali. Meanwhile, Nicolo Zaniolo is being investigated by Turin prosecutors. Aston Villa said they would "fully support" the police investigation into Zaniolo.
