On December 13, information from Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital said that the hospital had just discharged patient NVP (4 months old, residing in Ngoc Lac District, Thanh Hoa) after successful surgery to remove the "tail" growing in the sacral area.

Previously, in early December, Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital received patient NVP, who was found to have a 14 cm "tail" in the sacral region. Doctors determined that the patient had a herniated fat - marrow - meninges in the sacral region.

MRI of the spine shows a 2x4 cm spinal cord lipoma, with syringomyelia, low-lying spinal cord, and open posterior sacral arch.

After consultation and evaluation, the doctors successfully performed surgery to remove the "tail" for baby P.

After the surgery, baby P. was treated in the hospital for 10 days and has just been discharged.

According to information from Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital, meningomyelocele is a congenital malformation of the nervous system, with many different forms of the disease, with many different external forms. This disease often has many serious complications later. However, if surgery and proper treatment are performed, the patient will minimize the sequelae.
