Faced with flooding on the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen highway with high water levels in many locations, Hanoi Traffic Police recommends a travel plan for vehicles on the route to ensure safety.

On October 10, the latest information from the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police about the flooding situation on the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen highway, at many locations on the route the flood level is still very high.

Specifically, at Km29, the depth of the flooded area was up to 45cm with a length of 50m. High-chassis vehicles, trucks, and passenger cars can still move, but they need to pay special attention to safety and follow the instructions of the functional forces on duty on the route. Low-chassis, 4-seat cars cannot move because of safety concerns.

Police recommend that vehicles traveling from Thai Nguyen to Hanoi, with low-chassis vehicles, should travel through Yen Binh overpass (Thai Nguyen), go to Xuan Cam bridge, then go to Bac Phu intersection (Da Phuc commune, Hanoi) to enter Soc Son commune.

In addition, at Km28+100 National Highway 3 through Kim Son and Trung Gia communes, the water is up to 35cm deep. At Km29+500 National Highway 3 through Xuan Son and Trung Gia communes; at Km31 National Highway 3, the gate of Yamaha Company, the water is also very deep, vehicles cannot move.

Earlier, on the evening of October 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was present at Trung Gia commune (Hanoi) to inspect the flooding situation in this area. At the scene, the Prime Minister requested the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee to be ready with a plan to evacuate people in case of emergency.

The Prime Minister requested the Hanoi government to prepare vehicles to evacuate 30,000 people if there is a dike break or overflow on the Cong River.
