On the evening of October 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, 8-year-old rapper "Em be chat" (Xe Xe) appeared as the vedette of the fashion show "BJK - Omikid". Amidst the cheers of hundreds of spectators, the 8-year-old boy walked out with confidence, wearing an outfit imbued with the hip-hop spirit: an oversized T-shirt, black silver-plated cargo pants, and large sunglasses.
Xe Xe performed and sang live the famous songs "Em Be Chat" and "I'm a Good Kid", turning the catwalk into a stage for an energetic, free and stylish performance.
Xe Xe's performance blurred the line between fashion show and music performance, in line with the spirit that Creative Director Le Thi Hong Nhung wanted to convey.
Xe Xe's real name is Nguyen Trung Dung, born in 2017, nephew of Rap Viet season 3 champion Double2T. The two of them once caused a stir on social networks with many music videos with millions of views. Xe Xe released a number of MVs such as: Em be chat, Em be Viet Nam, Thanh Giong.
This fashion show marks a milestone of more than 10 years in the career of two creative directors Le Thi Hong Nhung and Nguyen Mau Phuc. The duo is famous for their children's fashion line that focuses on safety and trendy designs. For them, children's fashion is not only cute but also a language that expresses personality and joy.
On the catwalk, more than 40 designs were divided into four chapters – Little Legends, Everyday Spark, Home Is My Runway and Spring – telling the story of a child’s growing up journey through the lens of fashion. Each section exploited high-quality cotton, khaki, jeans, lace and chiffon, aiming at the criteria: Personality - Safety & Quality.
Starting with a vibrant hip-hop beat, “Little Legends” is a tribute to the street kids generation – the city’s children who always dare to express themselves. Cotton khaki, premium t-shirts and accessories such as snapbacks, bracelets and sneakers blend in the spirit of modern streetwear.
"Everyday Spark" is the beat of innocent childhood afternoons. Jeans, khakis, dynamic shapes and neutral color palettes evoke the familiar feeling of days playing on the porch. Delicate tailoring and soft materials make each outfit fit like a warm hug from a mother.
"Spring" includes a collection of modernized Tet ao dai inspired by the beauty of Vietnamese culture, blending tradition and modernity. The costumes are made from high-quality silk and brocade, embellished with hand-embroidered images of plants, flowers, birds and dragons. Every detail is skillfully crafted to maintain the innocence, suitable for children.
