“We really hope that the players will compete well and achieve the results they have achieved in their professional preparation at this Southeast Asian Championship. This is also an opportunity for each country, including us, to learn more about the preparation of our opponents for the 33rd SEA Games in 2025,” said coach Nguyen Van Hung of the Vietnamese pencak silat team.

The Vietnamese team has 14 players participating in the tournament. Of these, 10 will compete in the combat weight groups and 4 will participate in the performance event. The performance team includes Pham Hai Tien, Pham Huy Hoang, Nguyen Manh Hung and Nguyen Thi My Dung.

The Southeast Asian Pencak Silat Championship before the 33rd SEA Games 2025 will take place in Songkhla (Thailand) from October 10 to 15. The tournament will gather all martial artists in Southeast Asia to participate. The tournament venue will also be the venue for the pencak silat SEA Games 33-2025.

The coaching staff of the Vietnamese pencak silat team aims to win 3 gold medals in the events at the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship.

Previously, the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games 2025 had announced the preliminary content of the organization at the Congress. Accordingly, 13 events will take place with 10 combat weight classes (8 for men, 2 for women) and 3 performance events (men's individual tug-of-war, women's individual and men's team).
