Big fire at scrap yard in Dam Rong 1 commune

A fire suddenly broke out at a scrap yard in Dam Rong 1 commune (Lam Dong), fortunately it was promptly extinguished shortly after.

The fire at the scrap yard caused a column of smoke to rise dozens of meters high.

On October 5, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police said it had extinguished the scrap yard fire in Dam Rong 1 commune after about 1 hour of arriving at the scene.

Specifically, at about 4:36 p.m. on October 5, in Trung Tam 2 village, Dam Rong 1 commune, a large fire broke out at the scrap yard owned by Mr. Le Ba Van (56 years old).

Firefighters approached the scene to carry out fire fighting work.

Upon receiving the news, the Rescue Team of Area 2 immediately dispatched 2 fire trucks and 15 officers and soldiers to the scene.

While waiting for professional forces, the commune police and local authorities also deployed water pumps from a nearby lake to control the fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly deployed professional measures to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding area. By around 7 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

The scrap yard area is about 220 square meters, of which 200 square meters of wooden frame structure and corrugated iron roof were burned. The incident did not cause any human casualties; property damage is being counted and clarified by the authorities.

After more than 1 hour of effort, the fire was completely controlled.

The initial cause was determined to be Mr. Le Ba Van burning trash behind the scrap yard, causing the fire to spread to the area containing flammable materials.
