Hungarian National Assembly Chairman to officially visit Vietnam

On October 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that, at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo will pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 18 to 22, 2025.

Vietnam and Hungary established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950. Hungary has given Vietnam valuable support and assistance in the cause of national defense and construction.

During General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Hungary (September 8-11, 2018), the two sides upgraded their traditional friendship to a comprehensive partnership.

Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Hungary in 2024 will reach 932 million USD. Up to now, Hungary has 21 valid FDI projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of 50.66 million USD, ranking 52nd out of 149 countries and territories with direct investment in Vietnam.

Hungary grants 200 scholarships annually to Vietnamese students for undergraduate and graduate studies, and is currently the country that grants the most scholarships to Vietnamese students in Central Eastern Europe.
