An Giang is an important border area, with a strategic position in terms of national defense and security, so the need to improve the digital technology level of officers and soldiers is becoming more urgent. The movement "Digital Education for the People" in the provincial military was deployed with a clear goal: Not to let any soldier be "numerically blind" or fall behind the flow of technology. If the previous generation learned to read and write to open up knowledge, today's young soldiers learn digital skills to master technological weapons, not to be left behind in the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The highlight of this movement is the emphasis on self-study and self-research. Instead of relying on concentrated classes, each soldier is encouraged to explore and practice digital skills during their work and daily activities. Units develop regulations for soldiers to practice basic operations, such as: drafting documents, creating spreadsheets, and using military email safely. One step forward each day, one skill each week has created a vibrant emulation movement. Some units, officers and soldiers voluntarily form study groups, with those who know more assisting those who know less. Through mutual support, it becomes a driving force for the self-study process.

Belonging to the Gen Z generation, having early access to technology, having worked as a teacher at the Military School of Military Region 9, Senior Lieutenant Tran Dang Ngoc Tien - Propaganda Assistant of the Defense Command of Region 1 - Long Phu easily accesses new technology, artificial intelligence (AI) products. The initiative "Electronic handbook to support Party and political activities" was successfully researched by Tien. "The initiative is designed on Canva, Corel, ChatGPT software, KLTTS AI text-to-speech software, MEQR QR code creation software... including 4 main features: Supporting political and legal education; supporting traditional education; supporting cultural and artistic activities and supporting game activities. The highlight of the initiative is the use of document encryption in the form of links, QR codes, helping to reduce printing costs and modernize teaching methods", Senior Lieutenant Tran Dang Ngoc Tien said.

Captain Huynh Quoc The - Political Commissar of Company 1, Battalion 512 is a specific example of the initial effectiveness of the "Digital Popularization" movement in Regiment 892. In addition to training hours, taking advantage of holidays and breaks, he and the officers in the unit participated in the "Digital Popularization" learning program on the phone. Most of them received a certificate of completion of the program. Sharing about the learning process, The said: "I think that whoever does not learn digital knowledge will be left behind. Thanks to the encouragement of the commander and teammates, I feel I am improving every day."

The Propaganda Department, Political Department, Provincial Military Command is the advisory body of the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command on propaganda and education work in the provincial armed forces; the workload is heavy, the officers and staff of the Department never rest. "I determine that self-study and self-research are decisive factors in the "Digital Popular Education" movement. As the leading officers, we must set an example in small things to encourage officers and staff in the unit to voluntarily follow suit", Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tien - Head of the Propaganda Department shared.

Up to now, most of the officers and staff of the Propaganda Department have completed the basic digital knowledge training course in the army. The story of soldiers The and Tien is a vivid proof of the spread of the movement, showing that the spirit of self-study and self-research can turn "people who know nothing" into true "digital soldiers". Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Sang - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command affirmed: "In the digital age, knowledge is also a weapon. If a soldier does not self-study, he will be left behind. Only the spirit of self-study and self-research can help each soldier have the ability to adapt and develop".

The movement of “Popular Digital Education” in the provincial armed forces is spreading more and more strongly, arousing the spirit of learning and the desire to advance of cadres and soldiers. If nearly 80 years ago, “Popular Digital Education” opened the era of enlightening the people, now “Popular Digital Education” is the key to forming a class of “digital soldiers” - soldiers who are both politically steadfast and technologically proficient, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
