True to its position as the top contender, Ho Chi Minh City Police entered the game with confidence, with a team rich in experience and quality. Two former national players, Le Tan Tai and Dao Van Phong, played the role of “brain” of the team led by Coach Bao Tien, helping the police team to excel.
In the first half, striker Quoc Bao exploded with a hat-trick, along with goals from Tan Tai and Van Duy, helping Ho Chi Minh City Police lead 5-0. In the second half, coach Bao Tien sent two young players, Nguyen Le Minh Khoi and Ho Minh Khoi - both from the Vietnam U17 team - onto the field to create opportunities to practice and maintain the attacking tempo. Both scored, while Tan Tai and Van Duy completed their doubles, sealing a "destructive" 9-2 victory.
This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City Police have reached the top of the Becamex Group Cup, after winning the runner-up position in 2023. This victory concludes their convincing journey of conquest - from the qualifying round to the final - with stable performance and strong fighting spirit.
This year's tournament - the largest 11-a-side grassroots playground in Vietnam - has been held for 18 consecutive seasons, becoming a unique sporting landmark for workers and laborers. The 2025 season brings together hundreds of teams from businesses, schools and agencies in the area, creating hundreds of exciting matches, where the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Development" is strongly spread.
The organizers assessed that the success of the tournament not only came from its large scale but also thanks to the close coordination between the Department of Culture & Sports of Binh Duong , the Football Federation, the referee system, and the professional and impartial executive board. Despite the difficult context, businesses still actively supported and created conditions for workers to participate - a valuable gesture in developing community sports.
