In her opening speech, Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan - Chairman of Petrovietnam Trade Union said that after more than two years of implementation, the program has created a strong change in creative thinking, promoting the spirit of technical innovation, cost savings, and improving labor productivity. In 2024 alone, the program has recorded more than 3,400 innovative products with a profit value of nearly 8,000 billion VND, affirming the mettle, intelligence, and enthusiasm of Petrovietnam workers. Entering 2025 with the theme "Oil and Gas Innovation - Growing for Development", Petrovietnam Trade Union has directed its affiliated units to sign commitments and implement vigorously from the beginning of the year. Up to now, nearly 1,000 innovative products have been recorded, bringing in a profit value of thousands of billions of VND, contributing practically to improving productivity and production and business efficiency.
However, in addition to the achieved results, Petrovietnam Trade Union President Nghiem Thuy Lan also frankly pointed out that there are still some units that are not really proactive, the updating and appraisal of initiatives is slow and uneven. From that reality, he called on delegates at the Dialogue to promote a sense of responsibility, contribute frank and effective opinions to improve the quality of the movement in the coming time, contributing to fueling the fire of innovation, spreading the spirit of dedication, accompanying the Group in performing production and business tasks.
Speaking at the Seminar, Comrade Nguyen Manh Kha - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President of Petrovietnam Trade Union said that in order to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere from now until the end of 2025, while promoting the spirit of solidarity and the desire to contribute of cadres, union members and workers, Petrovietnam Trade Union has issued a Plan to launch an emulation movement with the theme "120 days of creativity, breakthrough, successful completion of goals and tasks in 2025". The movement is deployed closely with the political tasks and practical conditions of each unit, focusing on peak and sprint periods, both accelerating progress and ensuring the quality of works, projects and products.
He emphasized that Petrovietnam Trade Union always considers innovation as a key driving force to improve labor productivity, work efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises, and at the same time is a key factor in the emulation movement, arousing the will, responsibility and professional spirit of the staff, union members and workers. With the view that every initiative from small ideas has value, Petrovietnam Trade Union encourages, honors and replicates, aiming to form a unique "creative" culture of workers throughout the Group.
As of September 10, 2025, the Innovation program has recorded 994/1,500 innovative products, reaching 66% of the annual target, bringing in a value of nearly VND 1,400 billion. Some units such as PVFCCo, BSR, PV GAS, Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant have exceeded their assigned targets; many other units such as Vietsovpetro, PVcomBank, PV Power, PVEP also have positive results. However, there are still a number of affiliated Trade Unions that have not registered products, and the appraisal and updating work is slow and uneven. Faced with this reality, comrade Nguyen Manh Kha suggested that delegates focus on frank discussions and contribute solutions to remove obstacles in procedures, incentive mechanisms, resources, propaganda, etc. to improve the quality of the movement in the last months of the year.
At the Seminar, delegates focused on exchanging and sharing good models, creative and effective ways of doing things, including the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in product development, technology and new fields. In addition, delegates also exchanged and learned, proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process at the unit, and at the same time exchanged and built to develop a culture of innovation, contributing to promoting the strengths of each unit to improve the quality of the movement's activities.
On behalf of the Group's Board of Directors, Comrade Tran Hong Nam - Member of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam said that the innovation movement in recent years has become an important highlight, contributing to affirming the bravery and intelligence of Petrovietnam's employees. He emphasized that in the context of the Group facing many major challenges in terms of market, technology and energy demand, innovation is not only an inevitable requirement but also a key factor to maintain growth and improve competitiveness. Each cadre and employee is the core of the movement, because only when initiatives and improvements are promoted from the grassroots can the Group form strategic solutions to meet new development requirements.
In that spirit, he expressed his hope that the units would continue to share experiences, strengthen cooperation, and expand exchanges both inside and outside the Group to constantly update, learn, develop, and innovate. At the same time, he also acknowledged and praised the role of the Petrovietnam Trade Union in accompanying, encouraging, caring for, and creating conditions for workers to contribute more to the sustainable development of the Group and the country.
