O Lam Commune celebrates longevity of the elderly

On the morning of October 1, the Party Committee and People's Committee of O Lam commune organized a longevity celebration for the elderly, on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1) and in response to the Month of Action for the Elderly. O Lam commune has 2,577 people aged 70 and over (accounting for about 10.5% of the population). In 2025, there will be 525 people celebrating their longevity, of which 325 will be 70 and 75 years old; 74 will be 80 and 85 years old; 17 will be 95 years old and 9 will be over 100 years old.

At the ceremony, the leaders of O Lam commune wished the elders good health, longevity, and a happy life with their children and grandchildren, and at the same time continue to promote the role of "Old age, bright example", teaching their children and grandchildren to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and build a cultural life in residential areas...

On the same morning, at Ta Peng Trao Pagoda, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of O Lam Commune coordinated with philanthropists of Binh My Commune to present 300 gifts to poor Khmer people, the elderly, and lonely elderly people in the commune on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1)...
