(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 10, the 8th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) for the 2025-2030 term took place. This is an important political event that demonstrates the will, belief and aspirations of TKV youth union members, and more meaningfully, the Congress was held on October 10 - the founding day of the Group (October 10, 1994 - October 10, 2025).

TKV Youth Union is strong

The report at the Congress said that under the comprehensive leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Group, the Central Business Bloc Youth Union and the Government Youth Union, the TKV Youth Union has grown from a small-scale grassroots youth union into a grassroots youth union with a large number of youth union members. This is a turning point in terms of organization as well as affirming the position of the TKV Youth Union. With the spirit of solidarity, always proactive, creative and flexible in effectively implementing emulation movements, the activities of the youth union are always closely linked with the political tasks of the Group.

Propaganda, political and ideological education , and traditional education have been carried out with many innovative and creative contents. This has contributed to raising political awareness, fostering ideals and national pride for youth union members.

Key movements such as "Creative Youth" and "Youth Volunteers" have been implemented practically, with focus and key points, in accordance with the characteristics of each unit. In particular, activities of participating in undertaking projects, difficult tasks, technical innovation initiatives, environmental safety and hygiene work and social security activities have been effective and created a great spread throughout the entire union, attracting a large number of union members to participate, thereby actively contributing to the implementation of the Group's production and business tasks and positively contributing to the general movement under the direction of the superior Union in the past time.

With these outstanding results, the Group's Youth Union has been honored to receive many awards from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , the Government Youth Union, the former Central Business Bloc Youth Union and the Group's leaders.

Entering the new term, the political report also sets out the following goals: Promoting the achievements and experiences of the past term, the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement for the 2025 - 2030 term focuses on building a strong Youth Union organization in all aspects of politics, ideology, ethics and organization; Strongly innovating the content and methods of operation, doing a good job of educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for youth union members; caring for, accompanying, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of youth union members.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Ngo Hoang Ngan, Secretary of the TKV Group Party Committee, affirmed: The current Youth Union members are a large force in the total number of employees of the Group. Under the direct leadership and direction of the Group Party Committee, the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee and the superior Youth Union through directives and resolutions, in the period of 2020 - 2025, the activities of the Group's Youth Union have demonstrated bravery, intelligence, enthusiasm, and the spirit of "Discipline and Unity" with many exciting and practical activities and achieved many good results as reported by comrades, contributing to the success of the Group in the period of 2020 - 2025".

The Party Secretary of the Group requested that the TKV Youth Union should focus on implementing the following key contents:

Firstly, continue to innovate the content and methods of the Union's activities. Union chapters at all levels need to be more proactive, creative, and flexible in propaganda work, political and ideological education, raising political awareness, sense of responsibility, sense of discipline for union members and youth, thereby strengthening trust, fostering pride in the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", and determination to contribute to the development of the Group.

Second, the Group's youth must be the leading force in digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence and big data to management, production, safety and environment. Each cadre and youth union member needs to foster the spirit of self-study, self-improvement of professional qualifications, digital skills, foreign languages, and the ability to adapt to new technologies. The Youth Union needs to launch movements such as "TKV Youth Mastering Digital Technology", "Each Youth Union Member - An Innovation Initiative", "Creative Young Miners" to encourage the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate, daring to take responsibility.

Third, the Youth Union needs to continue to undertake youth projects and tasks related to production, green economic development, energy saving, and working environment improvement; strive to have many initiatives and projects applied to production and business practices, contributing to the successful implementation of the Group's strategic targets.

Fourth, pay attention to and accompany young people in their career, life and spiritual development. The Youth Union needs to play a good role as a bridge between young people and the unit and the Group, pay attention to development opportunities in work as well as cultural and sports activities, encourage spirit, build the image of a modern, confident, disciplined, united and creative young miner.

Fifth, actively participate in Party building and building a strong political system. The Youth Union should focus on discovering, nurturing, and introducing outstanding members to the Party, contributing to the rejuvenation and succession of leaders and managers at all levels. Building the Group's Youth Union must truly be a cradle for training and maturing young cadres.

At the Congress, Comrade Bui Hoang Tung, Member of the Government Party Committee Executive Committee, Secretary of the Government Youth Union also expressed his belief that the new Executive Committee elected by the Congress will promote the spirit of responsibility, dedication and creativity, not afraid of new steps and difficult tasks, to contribute to the work of the Youth Union, so that the TKV Youth Union can continue to have more outstanding results, truly close and be a practical environment to nurture and promote union members and youth.

The 8th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group for the 2025-2030 term elected a new Executive Committee of 23 comrades. Of which, 7 comrades are in the Standing Committee, comrade Nguyen Van Thuan continues to be trusted as Secretary of the TKV Youth Union for the 8th term for the 2025-2030 term.

Also at the Congress, delegates representing the Youth Union of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group were elected to attend the Government Youth Union Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.
