Domestic pepper prices continue to rise due to scarce supply as the new harvest has not yet begun, while export demand remains high.

In just the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached nearly 1.3 billion USD, equivalent to the whole year of 2024. The average export price reached about 6,773.5 USD/ton, an increase of more than 37% over the same period last year.

According to businesses, pepper prices increased due to a decrease in global supply and strong demand from major markets such as the US, India and the Middle East. Vietnam still holds the position of the world's number one pepper supplier.

Experts predict that world pepper prices will continue to rise because production is unlikely to recover quickly, while demand in Europe and North America continues to increase. The current high price will give Vietnamese farmers more motivation to replant and stabilize production for the new crop.
