At 4:45 p.m. on October 7 (Hanoi time), the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm announced the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics to John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis (all Americans) for "the discovery of macroscopic quantum tunneling effects and energy quantization in electric circuits."

This is the second Nobel Prize announced in this year's Nobel Prize season, after the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Last year, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to two pioneering scientists, John Joseph Hopfield (American) and Geoffrey Everest Hinton (British-Canadian dual citizen, known as the "Father of AI") for discoveries "that helped develop machine learning with artificial neural networks."

These are also the people who laid the foundation for artificial intelligence (AI) technology that is changing the world today./.
