At the same time, it helps to form a spirit of self-study for students even on rainy and flood days when school is interrupted.

Teachers and students get acquainted with digital teaching

Over the past two years, the Tuyen Quang Education Department has actively deployed the Khan Academy Vietnam platform to help teachers and students get acquainted with digital teaching. Ms. Nghiem Lan Thanh, Principal of Trung Mon Secondary School (Minh Xuan Commune), said that during the flood season, the school had agreed on an online teaching plan.

Accordingly, students study directly on their phones or computers, receive daily assignments and submit them in full. Thanks to that, even if they do not go to class, they can still maintain discipline and study progress.

The story in Trung Mon is also a common picture of many schools in Tuyen Quang province. Teachers are not surprised, students are not confused. This initiative turns the days of "school break due to floods" into an opportunity to test the power of digital transformation in education.

Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Hang, a teacher at Trung Mon Secondary School, emotionally said: “Many students have to study on small phones, taking advantage of the electricity, but still complete all their homework. When teachers accompany and have the right tools, students can completely maintain their learning performance.”

At Hong Thai Secondary School, Ms. Le Hai Yen affirmed: “Assigning assignments on Khan Academy helps students maintain their learning rhythm. Many students are familiar with the platform, so even if they do not attend class, their learning progress is still regular.”

Students can study online at home during the flood days.

For students, learning through Khan Academy is not only a temporary solution but also brings new experiences. Nguyen Duc Anh shared: "The system notifies me of correct or incorrect answers right after I do the test, helping me to self-correct. I also receive badges when I complete many tests in a row, so I am very excited to learn."

Towards developing self-learning capacity

Parental support is also an important factor. Mr. Phan Nghia Trong (Minh Xuan commune) said: “Thanks to Khan Academy, my child still studies regularly, is monitored and reminded by teachers, and forms the habit of self-study and time management. The family really appreciates that.”

These simple stories reflect a profound truth: when teachers are dedicated, have the right tools, and parents are on board, learning will never be interrupted – even in natural disasters.

Tuyen Quang’s success in maintaining the learning rhythm during the flood season demonstrates the local education sector’s quick response capacity and long-term vision. The persistence in digitalization over the past two years has not only helped teachers and students be flexible when facing difficulties, but also laid the foundation for a sustainable education system where technology is deeply integrated into teaching and learning.

Not stopping at "keeping the pace of learning", Tuyen Quang is becoming a pioneering locality in realizing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.

“KAV Open School” is not just a temporary tool, but has become a strategic solution to help teachers improve their digital skills and students practice initiative and self-learning spirit.

The message from Tuyen Quang proves that digital transformation in education is not only to cope, but to create a sustainable learning ecosystem, where knowledge comes to every student, in every situation.

It can be said that the “KAV Open School” model also creates a foundation for teachers to innovate their teaching thinking. Lessons do not only stop at imparting knowledge but also aim to develop students’ self-study and research capacity.

In many schools, teachers have been creative in designing lessons, using online tools to test and evaluate students' abilities in a personalized way. Thanks to that, learning has become more flexible, students can learn according to their abilities, progress and personal interests.

Not stopping there, digital transformation also contributes to narrowing the gap between regions. In places with difficulties in facilities, access to online learning platforms helps students in remote areas have the opportunity to access quality learning resources and participate in modern courses that are not inferior to urban ones. This has opened up more equitable and sustainable learning opportunities for all students - true to the spirit of "leaving no one behind" in educational innovation.
