According to Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai, implementing Directive No. 45-CT/TW of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, the Hanoi Party Committee has focused on leading, directing and successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels; leading the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to launch many exciting patriotic emulation movements, creating an exciting atmosphere of welcome. At the same time, the City Party Committee has also actively and carefully prepared the content and conditions to organize the 18th City Party Congress in accordance with the spirit of the Central Party Committee's directives and instructions.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges, determined to build a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital, the 18th Hanoi Party Congress has the following tasks: summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the City Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 term, determining the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress; electing the 18th City Party Executive Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term; electing the City Party Delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030, took place from October 15-17 with the participation of 550 typical delegates, representing nearly 500,000 party members of 136 Party Committees under the Hanoi Party Committee. The 18th Hanoi Party Congress is an important political event, taking place after Hanoi reorganized commune-level administrative units and organized a two-level local government model.
