Two locations in Vietnam voted "World's Best Tourist Villages 2025"

The United Nations Tourism Organization has recognized Vietnam's Lo Lo Chai and Quynh Son villages as "The World's Best Tourist Villages 2025".

According to the announcement of the "Best Tourism Villages 2025" award held on the evening of October 17 by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) in Zhejiang (China), Vietnam has two locations voted for, including Lo Lo Chai Cultural Tourism Village (Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province) and Quynh Son Community Tourism Village (Bac Son commune, Lang Son province).

Mr. Duong Ngoc Duc - Secretary of Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province received the "Best Tourist Village" Award for Lo Lo Chai village.

The two Vietnamese locations were selected from more than 270 applications from 65 countries, demonstrating the outstanding values, rich natural and cultural resources, and the commitments and efforts in sustainable tourism development of these two localities.

The World's Best Tourism Villages 2025 Award is a global initiative initiated by UN Tourism to promote the role of tourism in protecting rural villages, including landscapes, knowledge systems, biodiversity and culture, local activities including agriculture, forestry, livestock, fisheries and gastronomy . Villages selected for the award must have outstanding natural and cultural resources, and have innovative actions and commitments to tourism development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Thus, up to now, Vietnam has had 05 tourist villages recognized by UN Tourism as "Best Tourist Villages", including: Tan Hoa Village (Quang Tri), Thai Hai Village (Thai Nguyen), Tra Que Vegetable Village (Da Nang), Lo Lo Chai Village (Tuyen Quang) and Quynh Son Community Tourism Village (Lang Son).

This is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the policy of developing sustainable rural tourism associated with the community. The award is not only the pride of the two localities but also demonstrates the international recognition of Vietnam's efforts in preserving and conserving indigenous cultural values; developing sustainable, community-based tourism and services.

Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province, is located in the midst of majestic natural scenery combined with the unique cultural identity of the Lo Lo people. This place preserves many unique cultural values ​​of the Lo Lo people with ancient yin-yang tiled roof houses, typical festivals, traditional crafts, colorful brocade costumes... creating a unique beauty of the rocky plateau. In recent years, Lo Lo Chai people have developed a community tourism model, giving visitors the opportunity to explore indigenous culture, experience traditional activities, cuisine and life in the border area. Thanks to that, the cultural space and pristine landscape of the village are preserved and conserved, while contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development associated with the unique identity of the people here.

Quynh Son Community Tourism Village in Bac Son Commune, Lang Son Province, is located in the Bac Son Uprising National Special Relic Site and Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark, famous for its beautiful natural landscape, rich culture, especially the Tay culture which is preserved and clearly promoted in daily life. The community tourism model in Quynh Son is systematically implemented, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about indigenous cultural life, live in traditional stilt houses, participate in agricultural production activities, experience weaving, enjoy unique cuisine... Thereby, contributing to the conservation of nature, preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of the locality, promoting sustainable tourism development associated with the protection of landscapes, ecosystems and indigenous cultural values.
