Border Guard Squadron 18 supports building comrades' houses

On July 23, in Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Committee and Command of Border Guard Squadron 18 (Border Guard Command) coordinated with local authorities to visit and present money to support the construction of comrades' houses to the families of professional military Major Ta Quang Hung and professional military Major Nguyen Van Tan.

The Party Committee, the Command of the 18th Border Guard Squadron and representatives of the local government presented a support amount of 120 million VND (60 million VND/person), taken from the Ministry of National Defense 's House Construction Fund, to the families of comrade Ta Quang Hung (Staff of the Intelligence Service, General Staff) and comrade Nguyen Van Tan (Staff of the Intelligence Service, Squadron 1, both of the 18th Border Guard Squadron).

After 3 months of construction, 2 houses were completed with a total usable area of ​​80m², construction scale of level 4 house, corrugated iron roof, tiled floor, total cost of about 480 million VND.

In addition to the funding for building the Comrades' House supported by the Ministry of National Defense, the remaining construction costs were saved by the couple, and also received additional support from family, comrades, brothers and friends.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Chung, Deputy Political Commissar of Border Guard Squadron 18, emphasized that the comrades' house inaugurated and handed over to the family of Major Ta Quang Hung and the family of Major Nguyen Van Tan on this occasion is a project with profound and practical meaning, not only demonstrating the attention of leaders and commanders at all levels in the unit for the military's rear work but also the solidarity, affection, mutual love and a precious and fine tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

In the coming time, Border Guard Squadron 18 will continue to coordinate with local authorities to organize support for the construction of Comrades' Houses for 10 families of soldiers in the unit with a total amount of 600 million VND, taken from the Comrades' House Construction Fund supported by the Ministry of National Defense.
