Meeting of Women's Union officials through the ages

On the morning of October 16, at Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Site (Luong Hoa Commune), the Provincial Women's Union (PPU) held a meeting of the Union's officials through the periods, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025) and summarizing the special emulation campaign to celebrate major holidays and Party Congresses at all levels.

Delegates offered incense and flowers to commemorate and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Tran Van Lau - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee, and 117 officials of the Women's Union of different periods.

At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa - President of the Provincial Women's Union spoke to review the tradition of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and reported on the results of the special emulation campaign.

Promoting the heroic tradition, Vinh Long women today continue to affirm their role in the cause of innovation, integration and development. Thereby, women of the province have contributed to 1,650 collective economic models, participated in thousands of tasks in building new rural areas, and become godmothers to more than 2,800 orphans.

In addition, the association at all levels has mobilized hundreds of billions of VND, contributing to improving knowledge, skills, income, poverty reduction and sustainable development for women.

In the special emulation campaign to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Association's founding and the success of Party Congresses at all levels, women at all levels have carried out more than 300 projects, contributing significantly to the current innovation process.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Ho Thi Hoang Yen presented gifts of gratitude to the Women's Union officials of all periods.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau said: “The past 95 years have been a glorious epic of generations of Vietnamese women in the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland. That tradition continues in today's peace , when Vietnamese women in general and Vinh Long women in particular are increasingly affirming their role, position, intelligence and mettle in all areas of social life...”.

On this occasion, 104 individuals of Vinh Long province were awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" medal by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Units and individuals presented symbolic boards of funding to support social security activities.

To repair the road leading to the house of General Nguyen Thi Dinh - a provincial historical relic, the Ben Tre Mutual Aid Association in Ho Chi Minh City supported 150 million VND; the family of Mr. Vo Ai Dan - Head of the Board of Directors of the Ben Tre Mutual Aid Association in Ho Chi Minh City supported 15 million VND.

Ben Tre Mutual Aid Association in Ho Chi Minh City supported 70 million VND and Phuoc Long Ward Traditional Mothers Association supported 36 million VND for October 20 activities. 6 units have committed to accompany social security activities such as: Building a loving home, awarding scholarships, implementing the "Godmother" program, "Millions of gifts to share love"... with a total amount of nearly 7.6 billion VND.
