Mr. Ha Cong Quoc (Tan An commune, Dong Nai province) is one of many patients treated by doctors and nurses of the General Surgery Department, Thong Nhat General Hospital for inguinal hernia. The patient was admitted to the hospital with a swollen lower abdomen for about 10 days. After examination, testing and imaging, the doctors performed laparoscopic surgery to push the prolapsed organ back to its original position, and at the same time reconstruct the patient's abdominal wall. This is an advanced, minimally invasive, highly accurate technique that helps patients recover quickly and has a relatively low recurrence rate.
Mr. Quoc shared: "I suddenly felt my stomach getting bigger and bigger so I went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctors said I had an inguinal hernia. I was hospitalized for just one day and then had surgery that night. The doctors and nurses in the department were very dedicated, examined me and asked me very carefully about my health."
