After the merger, the whole country began to restructure the economy with a focus on industrialization, modernization and green transformation.

Industrial zones are the driving force for development

After the merger, the whole country began to restructure the economy with a focus on industrialization, modernization and green transformation. Industrial parks (IPs) are the key driving force, currently having more than 400 IPs and 1,000 industrial clusters, contributing more than 10% of GDP, creating jobs for millions of workers and attracting strong FDI. With 80,000 hectares of space out of a total of 180,000 hectares of industrial land, Vietnam possesses the potential to develop new-generation IPs, applying high technology, smart and sustainable production, in the 4.0 Revolution and committing to zero net emissions at COP26.

Specifically, in the Southern key economic region, where Ho Chi Minh City leads the transformation. With 66 operating export processing zones and industrial parks, the largest proportion in the country, the city is a center of services, finance, technology, high-quality human resources, and at the same time the heart of production with complete infrastructure. Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Parks Management Board, said that after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , this is a strategic turning point, forming an integrated industrial - logistics - seaport area, leading competition in the region. The three pillars of modern production in Ho Chi Minh City, logistics and energy from Ba Ria - Vung Tau, industry from Binh Duong, connected via highways, deep-water seaports, create a complete ecosystem from research to export.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Khanh, General Director of Vietnam Industrial Park Information Portal (VIZ), also said that the current industrial park land fund is estimated at 80,000 to 120,000 hectares, which is a golden opportunity to attract high-value investment industries, financially strong enterprises, and sustainable technology. Digital technology changes everything; accurate information about industrial parks is the foundation for investment. The trend of shifting from a purely production model to an industrial, service, green urban ecosystem, focusing on high technology, green infrastructure, renewable energy, and smart governance is also becoming more and more popular. These orientations not only meet international commitments but also build a self-reliant economy, leading the regional supply chain. In the context of ongoing global trade protectionism, Vietnam's industrial parks must be a symbol of deeper integration and development, turning each hectare of land into sustainable value.

Need for a more efficient media ecosystem

To meet the new development situation, Vietnam's industrial parks need a stronger media ecosystem, turning the story of industrial parks into a source of inspiration. Mr. Tu Luong, Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9), affirmed at the announcement ceremony of the media program on industrial parks and production ecosystems held at VTV9 on October 9. This is the first time on national television, a series of well-organized programs with the columns of Industrial News, Make in Vietnam, Workers 4.0, Supply Chain Map, Industrial Park Forum will be communicated and broadcast to viewers nationwide. The program will connect the government, businesses, workers, investors, towards self-reliant production, self-reliant industry towards implementing the green commitment of COP26.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Khanh also said that the VTV9 - VIZ joint program provides a clear view of the potential of industrial parks, introduces new generation models, sustainable projects, high-value industries, and opens international cooperation. From the broadcast content, the program will spread through digital channels and social networks to attract investors. The program also honors the silent contributions of millions of workers, exchanges experiences, and enhances the national image, from competitive costs to a smart, green manufacturing center.

According to Bui Minh Tri, 4.0 workers in the new era must know how to master technology and improve processes from creative knowledge. The 4.0 Worker Program is a platform for training digital skills, sharing stories, and shaping professional and integrated Vietnamese workers. The organizing committee also proposed a National Award for Industrial Parks, based on transparent criteria: investment efficiency, environmental management, digital transformation, and labor care. Combined with television, the award spreads innovation and improves infrastructure.

Industrial parks are not only economic drivers but also aspirations for comprehensive economic development in the new era. The organizers hope that this media ecosystem will contribute to bringing Vietnamese industrial parks to conquer global investors, promoting economic development for the country.
