State Audit Office conducts more than 900 audits in 5 years

(Dan Tri) - In 5 years, the State Audit conducted 914 audits, recommended financial handling of more than VND 281,000 billion, reviewed more than 1,000 documents and achieved a recommendation implementation rate of 81%.

At the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) held on October 17 of the State Audit, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, State Auditor General, gave a speech evaluating and summarizing the results achieved in the past 5 years.

Accordingly, over the past 5 years, this unit has performed 730 audit tasks and deployed 914 audits.

The State Audit has recommended handling of VND281,808 billion in finances; recommended reviewing to cancel or replace, amend, supplement, or issue new contents that are not in accordance with legal regulations or not suitable to the reality of 1,048 documents to plug loopholes and avoid loss and waste.

The implementation rate of audit recommendations reached 81%, higher than the previous period.

Through major thematic audits focusing on the management and operation of the State budget, issues that are prone to negativity, corruption and waste, the State Audit has provided the National Assembly , the Government and relevant agencies with many practical recommendations; meeting the information requirements for monitoring activities, perfecting laws and approving the State budget settlement of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

The State Audit has provided 1,851 documents and audit reports to serve the investigation, inspection and supervision work; transferred 17 cases to the Investigation Agency; and audited 2 cases with signs of corruption, waste and negativity.

At the Conference, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan proposed that the emulation movement of the State Audit should do well in 3 issues.

Firstly, we compete to improve the quality of auditing activities and audit reports, demonstrated by the good implementation of audit recommendations, clear identification of people and tasks, confirmation of correct assessments, and at the same time pointing out shortcomings and limitations and providing advice on perfecting the legal framework in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 66 of the Politburo .

Second is to compete to maintain public service ethics, promote prevention and fight against corruption, waste and negativity.

Third, the State Audit must take the lead in the digital transformation movement, shifting from post-sampling audits to pre-audits and comprehensive controls.
