Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe (October 29, 1964 - October 29, 2024)

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of October 29, at the City Theater, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary (October 29, 1964 - October 29, 2024).

Attending the ceremony on behalf of the Central delegates were Associate Professor, Dr. Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations ; Major General, Musician Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association. On behalf of the city delegates were comrades: Dao Khanh Ha, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; along with representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors, units and many generations of cadres and artists of the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe.

People's Artist Khanh Hoa , Head of Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe, reviewed the 60-year journey of Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe's establishment and development.

Exactly 60 years ago today, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe was established by the City Administration Committee on the basis of separation from the General Art Troupe. Throughout its history, since its establishment, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe has always absorbed the quintessence of art to cultivate knowledge, devotedly perform to serve the people, from wartime to peacetime.

After 1975, despite the economic difficulties of the country and the city, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe still fulfilled its political and artistic tasks well. After the renovation period until now, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe has created many works of art with high artistic value, building an artistic style imbued with Hai Phong's identity: strong, creative with many new and attractive themes; always the core in many internal and external activities of the city.

Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai acknowledged the efforts of the staff and artists of the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe of many generations.

Through national Singing, Dancing, Music festivals, international music festivals, regional and local cultural and artistic festivals, etc., the troupe has actively participated and won Gold Awards for many art programs, as well as many Gold and Silver Medals for collective and individual performances of artists and actors. With such dedication and contribution, the troupe has received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister twice in the period of 1989 - 1993 and the period of 2001 - 2003. For many years, it has received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee. Up to now, the troupe has had 1 artist awarded the title of People's Artist and 8 artists awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam presented the banner to the representative of the Delegation's leadership.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its founding, the City People's Committee presented the Union with a banner with the content "Solidarity, initiative, creativity and development"; awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 individuals of the Union who have made many contributions to the process of building and developing the Hai Phong Song and Dance Union. The Department of Culture and Sports awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 groups and 9 individuals who have made many contributions to the process of building and developing the Hai Phong Song and Dance Union.
