
Accordingly, to implement this project , Lao Cai province proposed to the Government to prioritize the province to pilot the investment in the construction of 4 primary and secondary boarding schools, including: Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding Schools, Y Ty, Pha Long, A Mu Sung. Construction is expected to start this October and be completed before August 30, 2026.
The remaining schools include Ban Lau Primary and Secondary Boarding Schools, Trinh Tuong, Simacai, Ban Vuoc and Ban Phiet, which will be built in 2026 and completed in 2027. The total investment cost is nearly 1,480 billion VND from the central budget, of which the construction investment cost is nearly 1,350 billion VND, the remaining over 130 billion VND is for equipment procurement.
The Provincial Party Committee also assigned the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee and relevant functional agencies and local authorities to urgently complete the tasks, especially the arrangement of land to organize project implementation in accordance with regulations.
The scale of the boarding school will be from 1,000 students or more, the school campus will ensure a land area of 5 - 10 hectares, including functional blocks: Study, administration, living, sports and boarding; the design is synchronous, modern, but still flexible to adapt to the terrain and climate of each region.
The construction of border schools is a major campaign of the Government, focusing on completing 100 boarding and semi-boarding schools for students and teachers in border communes with the goal of ensuring educational equity and developing human resources in border areas.
