The 2026 AFC U23 Championship will take place from January 7 to 25, 2026 in Saudi Arabia, with 16 teams divided into four groups competing in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.

Jordan U23 won third place in 2013 and reached the quarter-finals twice in 2016 and 2020.
Meanwhile, U23 Kyrgyzstan, although participating in the finals for the first time, is showing strong progress with technical play and has won a ticket as the group winner in the qualifying round.
According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will play the opening match at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026 against U23 Jordan, then meet U23 Kyrgyzstan at 9:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026, the last match will be against host U23 Saudi Arabia at 11:30 p.m. on January 12, 2026.
U23 Vietnam will gather again tomorrow, October 4, in Hanoi to prepare for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship and the 33rd SEA Games.
During the preparation process, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will go to the UAE for training from October 7 and play two friendly matches there.
Then in November, the team will participate in an international tournament in China playing 3 matches with U23 China and 2 other strong U23 teams of the continent.
With 6 consecutive appearances at the finals and being ranked in the second seed group at the 2026 tournament, the U23 Vietnam players have reason to be confident in their ability to compete.
