Nguyen Doan Bao Han (born in 2013), a 7th grade student at Phuc Dong Secondary School, is one of the characters in episode 154 of the program Vietnamese Family Home . Bao Han's father passed away in 2022 due to liver cancer after many years of fighting the disease. She currently lives with her mother and two younger siblings in an old, dilapidated house in Huong Binh commune, Ha Tinh province.

Four years ago, the house had its roof blown off by a storm, and the local authorities supported it with a re-roof. However, up to now, the family's residence has only been built temporarily with rough wood. Since her husband passed away, Ms. Doan Thi Tam (born in 1986) - Bao Han's mother - has been supporting the whole family. She currently has many illnesses such as bilateral thyroid tumors, gastric reflux, and osteoarthritis. Although her health is getting worse, she still does not dare to go to the doctor because of financial difficulties and having to take care of three young children of school age alone.

In a simple house, no bed, no door, no full meals… Bao Han still studies hard and is an excellent student.

The family has 2 sao of rice fields, and her younger brother lent her another 2 sao for cultivation. Despite her poor health, Tam still tries to work, but because the area is often flooded, she can only plant one rice crop a year, harvesting about 5-6 quintals, just enough for her and her four children to eat. To earn more income, she takes on all kinds of jobs, from weeding, working in nurseries... with a salary of 15,000 VND/hour. In addition, Tam is entitled to a single mother policy with a subsidy of 1.5 million VND/month.

The family’s daily meals consisted mainly of vegetables. The most common dish was jackfruit fiber or young jackfruit pickled and stir-fried with oil. The family hardly dared to buy meat, only on Tet, the anniversary of their father’s death, or when she had money would she buy a little. Understanding their mother’s hardship, Bao Han and her siblings never asked for it.

Despite her difficult circumstances, Bao Han still studies hard to make her mother feel at ease. Last school year, she achieved the title of excellent student. After school, she cooks, sweeps the house, washes dishes, does laundry, and takes care of her younger siblings so her mother can go to work. On days off from school, she follows her mother to the fields to weed and plant cajuput trees to share the burden.

Singer Dinh Manh Ninh expressed his admiration when witnessing children always think of their parents first, wishing their loved ones to be healthy and have less hardships before daring to dream for themselves. He shared: “The material dreams of children are also very normal for many people. It is just the desire to have a sheltered house, not exposed to the wind, because home is the place for us to return to, so it needs to be secure. Children do not dream of a house that is too big, just a normal home, safe enough to live with their family” .

The image of Tam and her four children living in a dilapidated house with no doors and cramped beds, forcing Bao Han to lie in a hammock for months made MC Lam Vy Da feel heartbroken. Worried about the safety of her family during storms, the female MC emotionally called for help from benefactors. Not afraid to sacrifice her image, Lam Vy Da even knelt down to ask for a house repair for Bao Han's family.

The moment the MC, guests and audience choked up at the story of Bao Han and her four children.

She choked up and said: “Bao Han’s family currently has no door. I wonder if any benefactor would like to give her a door. In addition, please help repair the house for her family so that they can have a safer place to live .

In response to MC Lam Vy Da's call, the sponsor representative decided to first support the new roof for Bao Han's family. In addition, Hoa Sen Home also committed to working with the team to conduct a survey and provide additional support, helping the family have a more stable life, no longer worrying about rain and wind affecting daily activities.

Immediately after this special support, a masked benefactor suddenly ran onto the stage to give gifts to Bao Han’s family. This person gave 5 million VND, an electric bicycle and two new school bags, but did not stay to share or reveal his identity.

The image of the chase between MC Lam Vy Da and the anonymous donor at the studio delighted the audience.

Unable to keep the benefactor, MC Lam Vy Da emotionally said: “You wear the pink helmet, please stand here and share a little. This is the first time I have seen such a benefactor. She came in to donate 5 million for the family to replace the door, then gave the child a bike to go to school. Then she ran away without leaving her identity .
